The park has one of the best coaster and flat ride lineups in the industry. At this point, they need to take a break from adding rides and fix up the run down park! The neglected landscaping and buildings, added with the horrible concrete atmospheres of the go-kart area and Hometown Square make this a not-so-pleasant place to go to, other than to ride rides.
When it comes time to add rides, they should focus on a few family-oriented attractions such as a dark ride.

This park is in desperate need of some new flats. Sure, we have a fair few classics and a Top Spin (that's barely open if at all nowadays), and we're no Magic Mountain, but that's really it aside from kiddie flats. This park is in need of some new flat rides, something that will please the public while strengthening our non-coaster lineup. And a Sky Screamer/Screamin' Swing will do just that.

GO BIG is being splattered all over their tv commercials. A coaster with lots of inversions maybe intamin or another record breaker who knows. I highly doubt well get anything big next year ie..worlds largest indoor dark ride its probly something small thats not gonna create a big hype like Goliath.

You do realize that's been the chain's slogan since 2011, right?

No It won't. Whirligig and River Rocker on Steroids. The whole family isn't going to want to go on those options. We need something with an extremely high capacity that would east crowds and everyone would want to go on. I would really like to see a Sky Whirl 2.0 or a trabant (yes i know we had both of these rides but we should try and find a place for them in the park DDD's spot and RC's spot sound good.) Also get rid of gasoline territory and bring back youkon yahoo, throw in a flying bobs, and either hay baler or a super himalaya, you could also get a break dance there. I also agree with fixing up the buildings that green an yellow building in Orleans is a perfect example of how not to paint a building, paint them accorfing to the areas.
I'd like to see some new thrill flats. Besides Giant Drop and MAYYBE Revolution, none of our flats really pack a punch. Something like this would be nice:

Sure we'll just magically bring back rides that were scrapped decades ago
They could do it if they really wanted to. It would be a custom/special order. The ride Co's wouldn't care because they would be getting business And all Hay Baler was was a himalaya in a barn how hard would that be?
Canadas Wonderland has the only Jump 2 in existance, I'm sure they'd gladly sell it to SFGAm in a heartbeat, it's like a maintenance vampire, runs maybe 25% of the time, and luckily on one out of my last 3 visits there, it was open(well for about 20 mins before going down for the rest of the day), it really wasn't a very good ride at all
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073
Yes, Six Flags could recreate a bunch of old rides "if they really wanted to". But they don't really want to. It's hard for me to imagine them spending a bunch of money to make custom flat rides that only older people would even care about at all (and even then, I doubt you'd get many people to come out for "New in 2015! The return of The Haybailer and Sky Whirl!").

Adding a bunch of old flat rides won't do anything for the park, whereas a Sky Screamer and a Screamin' Swing are new, exciting ideas for the clientele of the park. We don't have any exciting rides nearly as tall as a 330-foot Sky Screamer (which could be easily marketed as the tallest thrill ride in the park) or as intimidating-looking as a Screamin' Swing (market it as the "Midwest's most extreme family thrill ride" or something), which would fill some giant holes this park has.
In terms of location, I think the Swing or another flat ride could go in Ragin' Cajun's spot, while the Great American Sky Screamer could go near the old bit of Great America Raceway track is by Eagle's queue.

And that could also fit well there. Make it American themed and call it the great American skyscreamer.
Why are we still talking about a SkyScreamer in the 2015 thread? It's August now, we're not getting a SkyScreamer. Yes Six Flags has done some stupid things, but we're not going to get a 124ft tall SkyScreamer.

You're probably right, but there is still another zoning board meeting before before the announcement (on August 20th), and that's the meeting where they discussed Goliath last year. So, until we know there's nothing on the agenda for that meeting, it's still possible.
DejaVu2001 wrote:^ There is no signage posted outside the park, SFGAm will not be at the August 20th meeting, as signage must be posted 2 weeks in advance.
I knew they had to post signage in advance, but I wasn't aware that it had to be two weeks. Thanks!
I was just thinking that the whatever we were getting must really be nothing if they weren't going to bother to tease it at all. I'm a little more excited again (with the caviat that they teased IgNight, so the teases don't guarantee something worth while).
