ACK!!!, if we get what SUE has in that pic, I was grossly mis-informed about the nature of the new supports. Suddenly it seems as if positions are reversed, you people seem to accept it, and now I'm the one opposed to that.... thing growing out of that rear support. :)

I hope the front spike has the more minimal Wicked twister type supports :)

Also as a side note of a mechanical nature, I cant see how that support is going to last long without heavy maintaince, there will be alot of stress on that joint where it's welded to the main support, it's still going to sway at least a bit no matter what they do and I dont think a after-market welded joint is where you want to transfer that stress, but that's just me I suppose. :)

So that's what those were, I thought they went to Power Dive. I saw them when I went to apply last saturday although I could be getting the big support laying there, that is a turqoiuse color you see right as you go in to the Employee parking lot, mixed up with these new supports, which I probably am.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

So am I mixing these up with Power Dive's? cause there is a big, somewhat long, turqouise(I think it is that color all though I am not sure) support sitting in plain view after you enter the employee parking lot on the right. :?:

First of all, since these are supposed to look like Wicked Twisters supports, I dont think we should have them. Those were meant for Wicked Twister because right along the lake over there they get 65mph winds normally. WE DONT. I find no need for these what so ever.

It's completely different from WT. On the rear tower, it was just one extra support going maybe 20-30ft higher than the existing supports

Well, Gurnee can have winds well over 65mph at times (though admittedly not as often), but I highly doubt these new supports have anything to do with wind loads, probably has something to do with the 7 or so ton train that gets held up by the LIM's on the rear spike and the entire weight of the train that that entirely unspuuported track has to hold up.

Also if the twisted spike gets anything I suspect they'd be very similar to Wicked Twisters (no sense having riders hit their feet on a large green pole that's in the way)

That's just great, except they're definitely not blue. Just as Vertical Velocity's supports are not blue, a greenish-blue/turquoise.

As much as i'd love to bud in, keep me sterile here, I think they're blue. And anyway, it's not like it's gonna make a difference to you or any one of 'us.' I think Intamin should take a long hard look at what their building before they build it as they have been called back on many projects lately (although i'm not completely sure if they designed or are adding V2's, I think so).

I find it funny how Screamscape says "one of our local spies confirms <and has taken pictures of>" and yet Knotts still lets their readers go to solace, nice park. I dont know where those supports are but i'd assume they are in the back of employee lot a little south of ShockWave so you'd have to be the worlds biggest doofus to trot in and take pictures of them. And then leave and hope to god that no one sees you, pretty funny if you ask me.

If those supports were part of the initial installation of the Impulse, you wouldn't have given it a second thought.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Actually trends seem to show that if they were original equipment they would be considered ugly, after market add on's are always Weird/Bizarre/messed up/wrong/etc. :)

I wish we had the "backwards" supports that WT has that are much taller and needed less resupporting, but I suppose I can wish in one hand and defecate in the other and see which had gets filled first :)

Wow, that does look very true. Hopefully that stress doesn't break apart those new supports from the old one  :sarcasm:.
