Well, it is ACE day, so if you're an ACEr go for it. Otherwise it might not be worth it.

It's V2 for me, but then I start jogging. Just don't stop. Even if that includes walking. I got on the first train, front row on July 4th. :D Sent out the train after me and then threw a fit. 8)

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle :?
Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

I managed to get on the third train out this morning by just walking briskly. I used the Discover Card Entrance and was third in line there.
One odd thing happened .....at the end of the ride as I was getting out one of the ride ops asked me if I wanted to ride again as he spotted a line with just one other person and no other singles riders were there. So I had two quick early rides. The "grouper" was doing a decent job from what I could see.
When I came back by at noon the ride was posted as a 210 minute wait. I opted to use one of the passes I got when they cancelled the gold ticket thing. I almost felt guilty using it.....Almost.
Goliath was running great today ....it actually seemed a little faster going through the zero g stall then I remember from Media day.

How are crowds generally on Thurs nights in the summer. Thinking of heading out after work to catch a ride on Goliath. I know it will vary but just wanted to see if anyone had recent experiences..

Should be maximum of an hour or so. The extra queues are pretty much only used on weekends now, so the wait shouldn't be too bad. But its worth it, especially at night with the(minimal) tunnel effects!

This is peak season, so expect 1+ hour waits for almost everything every week day. Goliath will probably be at the 210min point the entire day.

Me and my buddies. Teenage football players. We hold season passes. It's a joke among us to our coach that we condition to get to goliath faster and spin chubasco faster

Does anyone agree with me that Great America should hang Goliath's world records in the station? Or maybe frame them at the entrance? When marketing Goliath they went for the world records specifically and I really think they should hang them somewhere for people to see! It would just be ideal considering the ride has no theming anyway haha

Was it confirmed that Guinness actually gave them the record?

They better do it soon before parks start mounting 2 X 4's under their steel coaster tracks in order to beat Goliaths records.

So, I'm at the park today and the ride ops have no idea how to work a single rider line. First, my buddy and I got ridiculed for abusing the system by the op at the ride entrance for using single rider while I'm with another person in line even though we were going split up as the grouper needed is to fill up empty seats.

Once my buddy and I got to the station, the grouper looked at is and said that he was going to pair us up to ride. Oddly enough, I'm more concerned about the grouper at the station. My buddy and I would have been great with waiting several trains and fill in empty seats like single riders are supposed to do.

I'm worried that if these kinds of operations are going to continue, the single rider line is going to go the way of the dodo bird.

How were you sent through? I'm going to the park tomorrow with my brother. It's his first time back since Goliath opened. I think he could handle the wait for Single Rider, but not the stand-by. My question is; Did they send you through the overflow queue or right through the FP lane and into the station?

We had to wait in the overflow and then when we got up to the spot where you move to the permanent queues you tell the op there that you are a single rider and they send you up through the flash pass entrance with a lanyard that says single rider. When we used single rider, the overflow queue only took 5-10 to get to the permanent queue (basically the last row of the overflow), so we hardly had to wait at all.

We did go back around 4:45 and the overflow was about half full. I asked about single rider again and they said that they were not doing single rider at that time. The whole process would be so much easier if they had signs posted at the entrance notifying the public about the single rider line and had a grouper at the station that knows how to properly place single riders. To me, it seemed like the grouper viewed everyone in the single rider/Flash Pass line as the same entity and tried to get everyone on the ride as quickly as possible. I would have been fine waiting however many trains it would take for there to be a single seat available for me, but once we got to the grouper he placed my buddy and I together and let us take a spot at the air gates.

It is not uncommon for groups to use single rider lines at Disney and Universal, but you have to be ok with not riding with anyone from your group, which my buddy and I were. I also wish that Great America would be more upfront with when there is and when there is not a single rider line, or better yet, always have a single rider line. If someone doesn't follow any coaster message boards, or see anyone use the single rider, I don't see how any GP could have any clue that there is "sometimes" a single rider option at Goliath.

It's just really poor planning and operations from Six Flags on this and it's frustrating because it should not be anywhere near as difficult as they are making it.

If it's run correctly, it should be physically impossible to "abuse" a single rider line.

A few things from my Friday visit.

-Halfway through temporary queues to back row was just over an hour fifteen. Crew is doing a really good job and the grouping in the station is stupendous.
-I saw someone using the single rider line multiple times while I was waiting. Never heard any complaint from security/grouper. He was filling seats. No harm being done there.
-GP reaction to the ride is actually very positive. I heard a lot of "this ride looks too short" in the queue and a lot of "WOW" afterwards.
-Front row is the way to go on this ride. Back is good for the first drop, but that's it after riding front.

I bet Goliath will end up having more riders at the end of the season more than Raging Bull despite the fact that Goliath opened about a month and a half into the 2014 season.

^I would be shocked if Goliath had more riders that Raging Bull this season. Raging Bull's capacity is so much higher than Goliath, almost double (1560/800).

I'd guess Bull's actual hourly totals this year are more in the 850-1,000 range. The crew just isn't getting it this year.
