Let's just say the single rider communication was one big giant mess. Bottom line there was no single rider line between 4 security guards and 3 fast lane attendants even though the security guards said there was one.
On TPR, someone said that Goliath didn't break down at all yesterday, so hopefully they have everything figured out so they can avoid downtime with Goliath.
To me my opinion Goliath first half feels like Bull. The first big drop and first over bank turn. I'm an inverted rider so I personally like Goliath more then Bull! At Cedar Point now and more excited about riding Maverick then Millennium Force.
For those who have gotten a chance to ride Goliath, do you think we will see it on the top 10 list of wooden roller coasters and do you think it will be the best new ride for 2014?
I have a feeling that Banshee will be the winner for best new ride of 2014. I haven't been on it but it has gotten great reviews and more people are likely to ride it than Goliath because of park attendance and more people travel for Kings Island than GAm. I do think that Goliath will be a top 10 wooden coaster though
I had the chance to ride both and I have to go with Banshee. The inversions just seemed more powerful to me. Maybe I feel the force more on inverted coaster then standard. Goliath just seems so unique it's hard to put It against anything else.

Just got back from a trip to KI, and Banshee is a lot of fun and impressive for its length and awesome theming, but I think Goliath is a more exciting ride overall, even though there is less to it. Banshee is definitely more forceful, but that has never been my top criterion for a thrilling ride. They are both great coasters, though.

You're right. I have a feeling it will all come down to what people prefer more. A ride that is short but is extremely thrilling or a ride that is longer and less intense, but still very good. The question is what more people will prefer. Either way I think it's only these two coaster that will be battling it out for best coaster of 2014
Rode Goliath 8 times yesterday......and I'm sorry to Bull and Flight but in my book..Goliath blows both of them out of the water. I loved it. Have to wait at least a week to ride it again but something to look forward to. Rode 1st row 1 time, 2nd row 2 times, 6th row 1, 12th row 4 times. Love the front and the back rows the most....no doubt about it. I was afraid I wasn't gonna fit but I had no problem putting the test seat down. Holy cow those seats are tight....when you guys said they were tight...omg they were tight but I guess they have to be due to the inversions and that's ok, I'm not complaining they were hurting me kind of tight but when they push down...geez and those restraints are really heavy too.
Yeah I thought about the Bull/Goliath comparison, and I've seen a lot of people say Bull can't possibly be better. I understand the sentiment, but there's something about Raging Bull that gets me nostalgic. It's just RELAXING. You can take an awesome snooze front row or you can get a little oomph in the back. It's long, so you can really enjoy the views and the wind in your face. Of course Goliath is awesome, but Bull openness and cruise-like feel is hard to beat. I'll have to officially rank the two only after I've ridden several more times and different seats.

Agreed. Cedar Fair usually gets those. Goliath is very deserving of it though.
I don't think it will win the golden ticket even as great as it is. You guys are forgetting the new Harry Potter ride, which is the one I am going to guess will win.

There's also Fire Chaser Express and Thunderbolt. Even though Goliath is better then the two, they are still good rides and are popular.
While on vacation this week at CP I wore my Goliath t-shirt. I had to represent my home park. A lot of ride operators asked me how it was. I said its was incredible and super smooth. One operator said he was on his way this weekend and asked if Goliath was big man friendly. I said I wasn't sure. Is it?

It really depends on "where" the person in question is big. A large chest dimension isn't a problem but if you're heavy in the stomach and even more so in the hips It looks like more of a problem, based on my limited observations. A couple people told me that because of the tightness of the seat, once the lapbar is down it isn't exactly comfortable. They weren't overweight or anything, just very muscular.
I've been on Banshee and Goliath and Goliath SHOULD win. However knowing amusement today Banshee will probably win. But I honestly didn't love it. It got kinda rough and bumpy at the bottom of quite a few of the inversions and just didn't feel right...

I have big hips and slightly fat in the front but I tried the test seat Wednesday and didn't have any problem with it. I was afraid about my thighs because those are kinda chunky but was glad I didn't have a problem fitting.
At roughly 8:00pm Friday, Goliath delayed in operation again. There was know clue on how long the wait would end up being, so they just closed the ride at 9 and had everyone exit the queue. Also, there were some signs of possible storms, which probably played a large factor in the closing of the ride.
