Just got off the first train of the day on Goliath. What a great ride. The first drop is fantastic and the zero g stall is so bizarrely unnatural. Can't wait to ride it again.
Yes Park officials asked us if we needed medical attention when we got off it. It was just pieces of the polyurethane wheel and just the back two rows were getting hit. Myself and gentleman in front of me
Yes we made it back to the station. However while we were going up the hill we knew something was wrong. Then after the 1st airtime hill that's when it was very noticeable. Making a loud noise and because very bumpy!
The park put the train on the transfer track and lowered it in order to make the necessary repairs, it only took about 15 minutes. Also, the red train is supposed to be state inspected today, so that means that we will hopefully have two train operation for Goliath's opening tomorrow.

Was that it then for media day? I know Fox was going to ride it again, but when they talked to Hank, he said it would be back up and running in 15-20 minutes

If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
So it was just a bad wheel, nothing to do with the track? Is that normal, for the polyurethane to crumble like that? (I mean "normal" in the sense that it's happened before on other rides)
^^ I would love to know the same thing. Hope it's just an anomaly, but this does not sound like a good thing, that Goliath is shredding wheels and pieces are hitting riders. Potential safety and liability issue. I just worry the nature and intensity of the ride will make this a regular occurrence.
I'm not a fat person...I do have slightly big hips but my belly doesn't stick out so hopefully when I go next Wednesday, I won't have a problem and I should be ok.

I was thinking this too. I'am now concerned about if this ride is safe. Too may bad omens with this ride. I wonder if they will delay the opening because of this.

Polyurethane wheels are suceptible to this. I've never seen anyone actually injured and I seen it happen several times. They are constructed. With a polyurethane "tread" atached to the metal wheel and occasionally it will fail. I wouldn't be concerned about it.
I think some people are blowing this out of proportion. I know this is CP, but when I worked there wheels shredded almost everyday at Millennium, Dragster, Maverick & Twister. Wheel shredding to me is a normality. The wheel &/or wheel assembly didnt come off, so this minor shredding is not a big issue. I mean look, they said it took maintenance what, 15mins to fix/replace? Easy breezy ....beautiful, cover girl.

Bye. LOL
Thats all great but pieces of the wheel hit people. That is not safe.
• Does anybody know when the train is going to reopen? Tomorrow possibly?
• Are they going to put pictures in the frames on the station like the animation originally showed or are they going to live up to the Six Flags standard and just not do it?
