Thanks for the response. I CAN'T wait till I ride it next week Friday!
I am glad to hear that Goliath is finally going to open soon. I plan on waiting until July to ride it. How long do you expect Goliath to keep its world records?
I won't be riding till at least the week of the 23rd. Im taking this week off due to working and need the money so it'll give me something to look forward to the week after
Goliath's first drop was so intense I had to use a safe word. The 2nd hill has airtime in the most unexpected places while nearly removing your limbs from the unbelievable head/hand choppers. The 3rd hill's airtime is the reason why pregnant women can't ride roller coasters. The dive loop made me quote Lil Jon by saying "To the window... to the wall!" just before plummeting head first through one of the most intricate wooden structures I've ever seen. The zero g stall is, hands down (or up), the most insane roller coaster element I've ever experienced. Inverted weightlessness goodness gracious. Inverted floating with nothing below you, just you and the ground. This element must absolutely piss off gravity. The following twist and shout, while impressive, gives you moments to sober up before careening into the brakes. Rocky Mountain Construction has done it again. While I may give a slight edge to Outlaw Run, Goliath claims an impossible to reach number 2 spot on my list. What Outlaw Run lacks: the zero g stall, simply the greatest feature on any roller coaster. Period.

That was one of the more entertaining reviews of a coaster I've ever read. Media day is going to rock!

One of the biggest differences between outlaw run and Goliath is Goliath has the zero g roll stall and outlaw run has the double heartline row and the upside down over-banked turn. I can't forget the dive loop on Goliath. Now I haven't ridden Goliath or outlaw run, but I give outlaw run the edge as the best RMC and Goliath number 2.
My grandpa and I were standing near Goliath watching peoples reactions and were noticed by Tess and Dylan from PR, as well as Director of Marketing John. They asked us if we wanted to ride, and then they took us up to the station. We got to ride it two times and let me say that it was probably the best roller coaster I've ridden in my life!
It's great to hear that everyone seems to absolutely love this ride. So I don't need to ask about the ride but I do have some other questions related to the ride. First, how are the restraints. I've never had a problem fitting on any rides and have fit both Viper and American Eagle as well as Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point so I'd assume I wouldn't have any problem here either but just curious how they might compare with other coasters. How is the queue line? Is there a fair amount of shade offered by trees, areas of a roof or an covering? I'm going to try and get there opening day and expect to wait a long time so I'll bring some sunscreen to be safe but was hoping for some areas of shade unlike V2 which is entirely in the open. How is the theming of the area as a whole and where is the on-ride camera?
First off, let me say, Goliath is AMAZING. Easily one of the best rides in the park. It has the drop of Raging bull with the loops of Batman all in one. Let me give a little overview of the day if anyone is wondering... After checking in near guest relations, our group (2nd shift) went over to the kidzopolis area where there was pizza and drinks. After waiting maybe an hour, we all headed over to Goliath. We waited in line just like any other ride, but sometimes the first rows were taken up by models. . After you rode, you could go on as many more times as you wanted (untill the shoot was wrapped, around 5:00). After that, well, they didnt escort us out, so I found some new friends and we spend the rest of the day at the park. Haha, the Six Flags people must have been crazy if they thought people wouldnt stay the rest of the night. Free parking, free admission...

The restraints and seats were very comfortable. Style-wise its like viper and raging bull had a baby. They go straight across the lap but have cutouts for your thighs to fit through. And they also have strange shin supports. I didnt see the use of them really... We didnt use the queue line because we went through the exit. But it looked exactly the same as the old Iron Wolf queue Other than the entrance portal, there isnt much themeing, but that could change before opening day. As for the camera, I have no idea, Haha
The camera is sadly oddly placed on the last drop out of the "twist & shout".
Yes this ride is epic, I literally am exhausted cause I've been at the park since 725am on 3hrs of sleep & just got home. So, though I wont review the ride much, I have to say its seriously amazing. Short, but amazing! As for the trains... hmm I love the look of them but not the fit. It is very tight & I'm a very skinny guy. I really do hate the shin restraints but when that first drop kicks in, its something you thankfully dont think about till you're back in the station The ride is so good that you just cant find anything to truly not like!

it was cool meeting you guys! I second you on the shin restraints. Im a lot bigger than you and i didnt find an issue with the fit otherwise.
One "cool" thing i seemed to notice is that for huskier guests, each car and each seat has an "expand" feature. No more hustling you to row 4 like x-flight. They seemed to be using it pretty frivelously throughout the day. Not exactly sure what "expand" does that they wouldnt just have them work like that to begin with, but to each his own. Cant wait to see who made the commercial!
So now that we know it opens on the 19th when does everyone plan on riding it (obviously could be yesterday if you already have or 18th if your invited to media day)? Im going Sat. 21st.
I'm hoping to be there the opening day of Goliath. I wish it had been earlier while kids were still in school to help keep the line shorter but nothing can be done about that now. I want to get there first thing and hope for the best. I'm just scared that it's going to have a three or four hour line. The only positive is that it's opening on a Thursday so many people will be working and generally only hardcores would take the day off of work.
Who knows, maybe it won't be that bad. I remember going the second or third day X-Flight was open and it was a Friday and the lines were short. I only wait about 25-30 minutes total for front row and about 20 minutes the next two times immediately after and another ride was also front row. Then again, this ride seems to be a lot more hyped than X-Flight was.
I hope that it is much like x-flight. I recall it's opening to the gp on a Wednesday. The line was I think 20-30 minutes. Then I went two days after on the Friday and same line length. I think it was mostly because six flags was running promotions for school trips and there were at least 30 schools there. Unusually crowded for the day. Hoping goliath is like this
