After riding it, I'm sure RMC CEO Fred Grubb gave it two thumbs up and more.
I will too, once I ride it.

This is probably the last thing on most people's minds but is rather important to me. Damion Nelson said that there will be single rider, how will it work ? I've seen signage for Stand-by, FlashPass, and Wheelchair Access. Nothing for Single Rider so far. I know at many of the other parks it is apart of the stand-by for most of the que than splits off closer to the station. At that point it's rarely still worth giving up your seat preference to save 10-15 mins. Any thoughts?

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle :?
Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

I'm under the impression that it would double with the Flashpass queue...

I have no actual info about the single rider line, and I HOPE that it's a direct path to the station (since I'll probably be alone more often than not), but it kind of seems crazy you'd get to skip a hours long line just because you were alone. It logically seems to make a lot more sense that it would split off near the station, maybe at the point where Iron Wolf's line for row 1 started.

On another note, is a single rider line really going to matter that much? Keeping in mind that I've never seen a two-across coaster with a single rider line before, so maybe it does, but it'll only be used for odd number groups (and for single riders that stayed in the main line), is that common enough for the single rider line to be worthwhile?

I'm quite often a single rider and have been on several different coasters with single rider lines in various parks. Often times they have had a "grouper" in the station that makes sure single riders are paired together. Not saying SFGAm will do that but other parks have done it that way.

I've heard the single rider line will be inside the station and run across the back end of it. When a single rider is needed, an attendant will open up a gate toward the last few rows of the train and let the next single rider to proceed to their seat. I guess we won't know the exact configuration until Media Day...

Good video. One question, those were people on it, or test dummies?
I think it was a few early test riders from RMC staff and workers.

Ah, well I hope Fred Grubb gives the testing phase a passing grade.
I think, they're almost ready to open it.

In these two pictures, on the left, there are footers and piles of wood just sitting there. Do they still need to add supports to the dive loop? If not, what are the footers and wood there for?

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Gary Pohlman told me there was going to be a few supports on the other side of the train tracks holding up the dive loop. These pictures must've been taken a few days ago, because there were a few steel supports (just like on the overbank) attached to the dive loop when I visited yesterday. As for the wood, I'm not sure. They were building a little overhang attached to the structure by the service quarter yesterday for the employees to enter/exit the park under, so that may be what the wood was for.

I have picture to prove they are adding them. They are hard to see though which is why I didn't post them. I should also mention those pictures from RMC are older than you think....That's before they even completed the lift catwalk.

...but I will post them now.

Does anybody have a good picture of the overall layout of Goliath? Possibly of it testing? It would be nice to add an overall layout photo of the coaster to the wikipedia page. It would make the page look so much better! If anyones interested, please post the picture and reply to this post. Keep in mind if I do like the picture that it may be posted to the wikipedia page. Thanks a lot guys!

I was at the park today for the whole day -- I can confirm that the 3 additional supports on the dive loop were welded and bolted into place. One of the times I walked by the ride I saw the crew moving the orange train to the storage track under the brake run and pulling the red train onto the transfer lift, though I cannot confirm that the red train tested. I did see the ride testing at dusk though from across the park towards closing time though. I apologize for not having any pictures.

The construction fences in front of Goliath are down. Now there is just a chain and sign saying "Goliath Opening Soon" blocking where you will enter the queue line.

No, not yet. I imagine they will send out any invitations by tomorrow, as only giving 1 day's notice would be kind of short.

Do you think that the delay in Goliath had something to do with the closing of the Pictorium? I don't see how but that's what an employee told us in the gift shop right outside of the theater yesterday... She didn't know anything else though except that it will be closed the rest of the year!
