Generally the PR folks choose who sits where and when. Finally, for those "hands up" riders (Aren't we all)...Generally you can't do that for commercial shoots. That want people that are having fun but they also want you to hold on. Just a couple things from previous experience.
There's not really anything to hang on to on the RMC trains. At least not with Outlaw Run. I know what you are saying though.

Does not look orange at all to me. Looks red. Compare it with the track color below the drop. Not saying it's not the orange train, but to me it's red.

Toward the end of the last video posted, look to the left of Thrillseekers down sort of low. The red train is still on the storage track. That's where it was earlier today as well.
^^ Apperantly the water dummies the park had didn't fit. As a result, I believe they took off the shin restraints and attached heavy weights to simulate the weight of the water dummies. I'm not entirely sure though...

As sad and hilarious as it is that they weren't prepared for that, it sounds totally realistic based on how this whole thing has been going
I realize about the water dummies not being able to fit.....and I see the pic of the 2 people in the back. This video in question is reported to have "2 people in the front row" and someone saying "There's people on it....." Just curious.

Does anyone know from past experiences when you find out if you made it into the commercial shoot or not? It's less than a week away, but they didn't even announce it until recently.

It's usually a few days before the shoot in my experience.

RMC crew took a few laps on orange train this afternoon along with Fed Grubb! Only action red train saw today was it moved to the transfer track that's under the station. On an unrelated note, teal train is now on site at Bull.

Really? Did they seem excited about their creation? Haha any pictures of them riding?
