Guess they decided to not go through with it and just do the midnight ERT. Plans must have changed just recently because the PR team seemed pretty confident last month that they were doing one when I spoke with them.

Can we just be happy to have Goliath? Everyone has so many worries: ert, when will it open, etc. Goliath is going to be amazing I'm so excited to ride it. It will open, we will all get on it and forget about all these worries pretty quickly!

Yep. We're going to have this ride for decades, if you have to wait an extra weekend for it, or wait in line for an extra hour, I think you can all deal. We'll all be able to go on it many many times over the course of it's life...
Is this the final piece of track or is there another rail?

I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
Also, here's a nice photo from today that Coaster101 sent me by request on Twitter...

Really people are pissed off over a "Season Pass Holder Event" that was talked about Last December by a PR person that isn't even employed by the park anymore?
You already have the perk of going to the park any day the park is operating for $0 additional dollars, dont be needy. (and obnoxious at the same time)
Personally, I think it's B.S. that they offered that to begin with.
I've never understood the Borderline Stockholm Syndrome that some of the park's apologists are clearly afflicted with. What is it supposed to accomplish?
I've not yet been to the park this year, and don't own any Goliath t-shirts or a season pass. I did, however, consider picking up a Gold Pass purely for the ERT that was supposed to go with it. Personally, it wasn't anything I had my heart set on like some posters look to have had. I'm not sure I would have attended even if I did end up buying a season pass and the ERT was still on.
That said, if this...
"Their PR team confirmed multiple times throughout the off season that they would have one."
...is true, then whether or not it's "B.S." that this ERT was offered to begin with is entirely irrelevant since it was it was, indeed, offered to begin with. As it no doubt influenced some people's decision to buy a season pass, I don't see why said people aren't allowed to express their disappointment (especially in the case of an earlier poster in this thread that had someone coming in from Minnesota).
Yeah maybe theyll have an ert later in the season. You guys do realize though lines for a goliath ert would probably be longer not shorter right? Like cad.
But that doesn't mean it's going to happen the first days the ride is open.
Did it ever occur to you that a Season Pass exclusive event maybe something announced later?
Certainly, it did. I'd be surprised if it wasn't.
"You guys do realize though lines for a goliath ert would probably be longer not shorter right? Like cad.
Definitely. At that point, though, they delivered the ERT people were starting to grumble about and it's a dead issue. If someone should be unhappy that "ERT" turned out to be one or two rides and a whole lot of waiting, it's not the park's problem.
While staying on topic of Goliath, I'm going to quickly go off the topic of ERT to say this: Thrillseekers opened up today. It includes Goliath apparel (shirts, hoodies, jackets), hats, lanyards, keychains, pins, and gladiator themed costume pieces. Also, there WILL be an on-ride photo. The photo booth is located inside the gift shop. Overall, it looks much larger on the inside than it originally seemed in my opinion.

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)
Here's a funny thing I was talking to some people with Goliath shirts on that were under the impression that each ticket was only good for one ride. So they were buying multiple shirts for more tickets. I told them I thought the ticket was good for the whole event. I asked guest services it is June 1 Sunday night 11:59pm Monday morning 2:00am and one ticket is good for the whole event. My only question is park closes at 8 can we wait in line or will we have to leave the park?

That one is obvious....You have to leave the park. I don't think they will stop you from waiting outside the gate though.

I side with Galvan on this. The ride is clearly not ready for guests and its pretty clear the park needs those extra days between Media day and Golden Ticket ERT to get this thing actually ready for a public opening.
If I'm a park manager, a couple of emails to coaster enthusiasts isn't a full public guarantee. I didn't advertise Gold Pass ERT before the ride opened to the public. It's too bad that I'm going to disappoint tens of people, but in the long run its necessary so the public (thousands of people) can enjoy a ride that's already overdue to open. To be honest this is one of the reasons why I wouldn't want the PR team to chat with coaster enthusiasts - they always have good intentions but you never know what unforeseen circumstances (ie - a terrible winter and a ride past due to open) will pop up after you make a verbal promise.
And anyways, if the coaster enthusiasts really want to get at the ride before opening they have two opportunities that the park has pushed forward for them. Join media day, or buy a T-shirt.

I was upset that they cancelled the season pass day but that's ok now. I'm still gonna go Friday and enjoy the day with my friends and then going to the midnight event on Sunday with that same group of friends. It'll be fun to go on Sunday for sure.
