Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Track ties going up on the stall this afternoon. I bet we'll see track lifted up there shortly. There is still so much to do to get this thing ready for media, let alone guests.

It'll be a photo finish!

It will open when it opens.

Six Flags requires 50 cycles per train every season for every coaster.

Well they could probably do 50 cycles in a day or two.

From my work experience, It takes just about a day. That's with no interruptions. I know this because I cycled Demon's third train in 2011; you pretty much open and close all restraints as normal until the cycles are complete. Maintenance takes it from there and removes the dummies.

Goliath needs these things to happen: RMC testing, Supervisor training, Lead training, and then team member training. Media Day will have mostly Supervisors running it.

(Six Flags' 100 cycles happen at about the same time as Lead/Team Member training)

^I was just thinking the same thing. It looks really odd right now as if it doesn't match up because of the angle.

Just click the "Save Image" button (should be second from the bottom of the webcam), copy the link that it opens up, paste that link to a forum post, highlight it, and click the "Img" button in the reply window. Wallah! :D Sorry if that sounded confusing.

Not sure if anybody has noticed this but by their construction/break room, the one pavilion that they enclosed for this project, they have put a fence up there separating it from Goliath. Pretty much tells us for sure that you will not walk through Goliath for Necropolis.

^If you look at the park map, they are re-routing the path into Necropolis on the left side of Wilderness Theater. This has been discussed in other topics.

^You can never have too many thank you's! Great pictures, DejaVu! Thanks for sharing.

On a somewhat random note, though I only bring it up because of that photo with Goliath's chain for the lift in it, how heavy are the chains for lifts usually? I'm sure it varies depending on how long the lift hill is for whatever ride, but I was curious as to how much the chains usually weigh since they look pretty thick.

I work in the Industrial Manfucturing and Engineering field and my company manfuctures chains, belt, and gear boxes, similar to those that are used on coasters. On some of our models, the chains can weigh around 150lb per link. The heavy duty chains are used for the hard core mining, and I doubt that coasters need something that heavy duty. My guess would be more like 75lbs per link.

SF Guest Relations finally got back to me. CONFIRMED: There is no Season Pass ERT. The only ERT on Goliath are the stupid shirts.

I really hope that isn't true. I passed up on buying t-shirts 2 days ago when I went because I was expecting there to be a pass holder preview. Their PR team confirmed multiple times throughout the off season that they would have one. I know plans can change last minute but still, I would be pretty mad if they didn't have one.

Welp, that's disappointing, but I'd be in school anyway so it doesn't matter. I'll be going with school on the fourth and at least we have it semi-confirmed that it'll be open.

50 cycles isn't hard to do in a day, 30 dispatches per hour with an experienced crew isn't hard at all and I can't imagine training would take that much longer.
