That's probably fair, comparing it to Outlaw Run's cost, but would the steel in the lift structure cost a little more, or not. If it does cost more, would that cost be negated by how much track uses shared structure?
Sorry I couldn't get more photos, I was with family so they didn't want to stand around and watch me take photos all day
I also noticed them working on the lift chain return track so there was more than just drop track added today. You can see it in two of the images below if you look close enough, it's the white line that runs along the lift support structure.
^Great photos! The drop is looking great! The remainder of the track should go up tomorrow and it's good to see the chain return track half way complete. I'm guessing testing will begin early next week and they'll do cycles just about around the clock to pass inspection unless they're forbidden to test at night. I don't know what the rules are on that.

When I purchased the t-shirt for the ERT event, the employee said they are confident with the date. Take that for what you will. It's either his opinion or their management is telling them to say that because they are in fact very confident in the date they have set

When I was at the park today, I overheard a conversation between someone in the GP and someone that was doing work near Goliath. When asked when the ride would open, the honest opinion this person gave was "in around 3 weeks." Based on his position at the park, this person probably has a pretty good idea as to when the ride will be ready to open.
Of course, it's just his opinion, but I wanted to present it to show that not everyone in the park is saying the ride will be ready when marketing hopes it is.
IF ride-time gets pushed back for shirt buyers, I wonder if the park has a way to contact everyone that bought a shirt to let them know the ride-time is delayed? I'm sure notices would be sent out via facebook, twitter, etc., but still, it would be a shame if even just one person showed up to ride Goliath and see a National Lampoons situation take place. Hopefully, though, this won't happen, of course! Hopefully, somehow, this puppy will be done by then.
While I was in line for Viper, the Flash Pass worker that holds up the line was telling the couple in front of us about how the ride will open in time and that the constructions workers work every day from 3a.m until park closing to get the ride done. So rest-assured, I'm sure they are confident that the ride will be ready, but lots of work is being put into the ride in a very short amount of time.

It really depends on the day. Not only did they work on a Sunday this week.... But until 8:30.
I'm just going to say, I'm amazed at how patient some of you are. I'm not talking about waiting in lines. I'm talking about standing around the construction site taking pictures. I'm able to spend a max of 5 minutes.
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)
patient lol. Count how many posts are on this thread that are how soon will it open, o no it looks like they are behind, etc. My favorite is the one that said it's not going to open until August. They aren't as patient when it comes to waiting for Goliath to open. Then it's panic mode lol
I'm really wondering how long it's going to take to complete the zero g stall. They have cranked out this drop faster than I would have ever thought that's for sure. Which is awesome

I'm living in the area this summer for an internship, and having never been able to watch a roller coaster be constructed before, I've loved being able to stand in awe of this monster structure rise. To each his own, though!
With that being said, I can't wait to ride it instead of looking at it from the ground.

I am pretty sure they will be able to test the ride at night if need be. Neighbors only usually complain about the yelling and screaming riders do for the noise. This coaster will be pretty quiet without anyone on it.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
Goliath is one of those coasters that is just so much more impressive in person rather than a computer mock up. When it was announced the coaster certainly looked cool, but seeing it dominate the midway in Iron Wolf's little old spot makes you believe its going to be one heck of an impressive ride once it opens.
I am excited for media day.
