We got to take a look at the train and some of the other final touches on the ride before the big scheduled unveiling on the 29th. I know it's probably stuff you already know about the ride, but we got some great access to shoot some HD video of the construction site.
Set your alarm clocks and your DVRs for 4AM! The segment will air on the early WGN Morning News between 4-6am.....and if you're out of town, the 4am hour airs across the country on WGN America!
See you bright and early. And I look forward to meeting many of you at the upcoming media day!

No, not that soon. Once they complete the lift hill, probably tomorrow, they need to finish putting down all of the track and then they need to work on electrical stuff, have the whole train on the track. Finish anything else needed after that, and then testing can start. I honestly don't see testing starting until next Tuesday or Wednesday.

I agree with you on the testing portion! Odds of it sooner seem slim to me!
This shot is of the last two pieces ready to be lifted. The left/top piece (with workers) was lifted a few times and the load was balanced. By 5:15 I think they decided to call it a day on this since there was not enough time to lift and secure it by 6 pm.
Last major support piece section / top of lift hill (Other piece left op is the one above);
Not Goliath but...Old Ignite stage coming down (or just downsizing)...nice to see the train station again though.:
