My thoughts is that before that is even topped off the zero g stall will have to be completed unless they move the cranes to the other side of the lift hill or feel like raising pieces of track for the stall over the lift!

They've been putting more grout in the track today (floater hill this time) and added a couple more beams to the drop structure. I'm sure they did some more electrical work or something too. They also added those little pieces (nodes) of steel that connect the supports to the track for the 2nd part of the zero-G stall. They can start adding track to it as soon as tomorrow it appears.

I received a email confirming that Media Day will be on the 29th! So.it looks like they will fast track the testing to get it open. Glad I can be a guinea pig!
Looks like they're getting ready for another section of steel for the lift.
EDIT: Actually, they might be preparing to add track to the drop soon too. I didn't see that they were adding more of those nodes this morning to connect the supports to the track until I looked closer.

This kind of reminds me when they were building the waterpark. They stated a media day and opening day, but it looked like the waterpark was nowhere near finished. By a miracle, even though some areas weren't quite ready, they got the waterpark open on the date that they set.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
I have some bad news, the piece of the drops structure that they put on this morning has been removed for some reason. I don't know what happen and what is going on.

I think this now means there is a 72.675% chance that the ride opens 4 days and 3 hours late.
I was very excited and hopeful that the lift would be finished today or tomorrow but now that they took a whole piece off, it feels like someone dropped a bomb on me. I am very disappointed .

It's already back up. They're bolting it into place right now.

Through some talk last week, I was told that Duane said some pieces were still in Idaho. Looks like those pieces may be here after all. This is getting really exciting now! ;D So near to completion!
Here is one I took on the ride home tonight. I know the park issued is almost the same...mine is just a different side/angle.
Also it looks like the rest of the hill structure is now on site from what I could see. There are still three sections and they are in different area of the employee parking lot. I am assuming they will go up three separate sections...but we will see.
What's up SFGAmWorld-ers? It's Marcus Leshock with WGN-TV. Tomorrow morning I have a construction update on Goliath. We got to take a look at the train and some of the other final touches on the ride before the big scheduled unveiling on the 29th. I know it's probably stuff you already know about the ride, but we got some great access to shoot some HD video of the construction site.
Set your alarm clocks and your DVRs for 4AM! The segment will air on the early WGN Morning News between 4-6am.....and if you're out of town, the 4am hour airs across the country on WGN America!
See you bright and early. And I look forward to meeting many of you at the upcoming media day!
