I still highly doubt that. The ride will most likely open the last week in May or the first week in June.

Wow, this coaster has a lot of work to go still. It looks incredible though already - already so intimidating. They have 19days till media day & everyone was talkin about it being topped off this week. If that doesnt happen by 5pm today(I say that cause they do not work Sundays as we're aware & topping off is most likely not happening today) I think we should expect a push back obviously.

After all is said & done, as anxious as we all are - it will open when it opens & it will be epic! ;)

Yeah, Katy from the park's PR said last weekend that it was on schedule to be topped off this week. I still think the ride might be pushed to early June, but I have no problem with that. An extra week or two of waiting will be worth it for this monster.

Some real questions they should have answered are if anything will happen to the tunnel and when it will actually open! This looming "Coming soon," I've seen just about everywhere still worries me.

The video isn't marketing toward the super geeks, it's everyone. These are questions those kind of people ask.

I also don't understand the people that say something "worries them." Worries you about what? It might open another week or two late? Is it really THAT big a deal when it's going to be open for years and years after it opens? This happens every time something opens later than scheduled and I have never understood it. Just to be clear, I am as geek obsessed with this ride as anyone else but man, chill out a little. It will be here soon.

The only reason I say I'm worried is because I want to ride it as a soon as possible! I've never been on an RMC coaster before and everyone says they are a fantastic experience! I'm just extremely hyped for this ride! And don't worry I'm chill, just excited that's all! :D

First off thank you for posting the pictures CoasterDave316!

Second since the lift hill did not get topped off today, it will most likely be topped off on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. If they finish the brake run and the electric systems by the end of next week, then they can start testing. I am will all of you who think the ride will open a week later (June 7th). I see a 85% chance of that happening.

The park employees (security and ride ops specifically) are still under the impression of a Memorial Day weekend opening. Every time someone asked about when Goliath would open, Memorial Day weekend would always be the response. I was so lost
Anyways, i'd rather have the coaster open second week of June and have it guaranteed to be done right, rather than RMC rushing through and something going unintentionally wrong...

I'll admit, I did refresh my browser a couple times just to be sure an old image wasn't stuck in there. They are indeed working today. :)

Just got back from a great day at Great America. I wasn't entirely sure what kind of crowds to expect, but with it being Mother's Day and storms projected in the afternoon, I thought that the crowds would be pretty light, and I was correct. Most every ride was a 2 train wait for the first 4 hours. The longest I had to wait for a ride was for Whizzer and was the last credit I needed to complete the circuit for the day.

I spent some time perusing around the Goliath construction site. First off, the entrance portal looks great. There have been a few comments about it being in a weird place, and that the line might not enter through the sign, but after looking around the park today, most of the signs/portals are built in a way that you do not necessarily have to walk through the sign to get to the queue. I think of X-Flight, where you can walk through the sign, but the sign is built out a little ways from the queue entrance so if you want, you can avoid walking through the portal.

With regards to Goliath, there is still a crap ton of work to do, but the ride looks simply spectacular. It is the most unique looking ride I have ever seen. The mixed materials, crazy support structure, and the Dive loop make this coaster look like it's a frankenstein of a coaster in the best way possible. That dive loop has the potential to get lost in the shuffle with the drop and zero-g stall, but that thing looks bonkers. It looks like it isn't possible, but there it is...in real life. One other aspect that I was surprised about, was that, while I knew that it has a really small footprint, the ride looks so compact in person especially with how tall and fast this coaster is going to be. I can not wait to ride.

My bother & I were just talking about how we all thought we've seen everything but yet here's Goliath doing things we never thought possible. It's great to not only hear this ride being raved/talked about in the industry but here, at our park! It's simply wonderful to see something being built before our eyes these days that blows people's minds like that.
