I do not think the trench will be enclosed. It is open on the map, and Hank said in front of the Village Board there would be no tunnel, which I took to mean at the bottom of the drop, though I suppose someone could have been asking about a tunnel on the drop for sound issues. The only place it is enclosed is on the video renderings.

Was talking to Hank over by Goliath today and according to him the queue will have the same layout as Iron Wolf did. Sometimes I just don't get Six Flags's logic.

What was wrong with Iron Wolf's queue?

Also I think it was asked on one of the construction tours, the trench will have some sort of non-permanant covering, so it should be sort of a tunnel. Of course X-Flight was supposed to have a Hangar to fly through, so we shall see.

What's wrong with Iron Wolf's queue?!? The fact that the line for Goliath will practically be spilling out into the midway everyday of operation. Goliath will have longer lines than Iron Wolf ever saw. In my opinion, they need more queue for Goliath than Iron Wolf had.

Yeah, that seems like the whole area is going to be a mess with people all over. Iron Wolf would sometimes spill out of the queue on busy days, and Goliath is going to be way more popular. I wonder if they'll add more queue somewhere as time goes by.

As for people who are surprised that the Goliath Insider Q&A thing didn't actually tell us anything, they clearly don't understand what PR is. They're weren't going to answer any questions that didn't just fully go with the party line (and make the park look good).

When the line hangs out the queue, people assume it's a terrible line. Using the old queue means shorter lines. No matter what the queue is going to spill out onto the midway for a year or 2, but once you get into the queue it could be a 30 min line or a 3 hour line if they built I giant queue like Cedar Point tends to do and still spill out. I like the first option.

I still think the queue should've been extended a little bit more. If I'm remembering correctly, Wolf's queue was pretty small compared to other major coasters in the park that fill up. It was fine for Wolf because it never really needed a long queue, at least not in its later years, but Goliath is a different story. Last year they said they were considering adding another queue block, guess that's not the case.

I think they should have extended the current queue house out more toward the midway instead of adding that pathetic excuse of a gift shop.

I'm assuming they will fill in the gaps between the cars and the station platform so people aren't falling into the depths of Goliath!

I would say putting up a few of those signs would be a cheaper work-around. ;)

From what I understand Six Flags builds ques that should que about 90 min worth of people. I suspect the que will in fact be about 90 min worth. They do not want a very long que because it causes long lines. If people see the que spilling out of the midway they will skip the ride and go elsewhere. This is what Six Flags wants. They do not want people standing in line for 3 hours.

The video isn't marketing toward the super geeks, it's everyone. These are questions those kind of people ask.

I also don't understand the people that say something "worries them." Worries you about what? It might open another week or two late? Is it really THAT big a deal when it's going to be open for years and years after it opens? This happens every time something opens later than scheduled and I have never understood it. Just to be clear, I am as geek obsessed with this ride as anyone else but man, chill out a little. It will be here soon.

As a few members have posted, I think the entrance in person is incredible! The amount of detail in the cracks & designs are awesome. all I had on me was my phone, so its not too detailed but here's a closer look to some details :)

Great pictures so far guys! The entrance sign looks great and I can't wait to see Goliath getting topped off!

On a side note, the queue will be spilling out for a while, and I hope SFGAm can somehow keep it looking neat and not like a mess of people. Do you guys think the line will extend into Yukon Territory?

Whether they decide to add more queue space or not, the line for this thing is going to spill out for awhile. They can add temporary queue lines if need be. I would think they would extend it into Yukon since they have less rides in that area.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Maybe they have a plan for an extended queue. Remember when Batman first opened and the entrance was actually right next to the Mardi Gras stage? For those of you that dont remember, there was a 2nd entrance over there for when it was extremely busy. It's actually still there but they never use it anymore. They managed the long lines in the beginning and I'm sure they will do the same for Goliath.

Correct. They can simply add a temporary queue extension by just adding stanchions with chains.
