Hopefully the ride doesn't get pushed back a week (which seems like its almost confirmed) because the season pass holder day is the 30th which is a Wednesday and I have school! Do any of you guys know what time the event will start and end? I get out of school at 3:00 and if the season pass holder day runs to about 6:00 or 7:00, then I can go after school.

May 30th is a Friday.
Oh, sorry! I was looking at the April calendar. Thanks for correcting me.
Also, it looks like they've finally finished up their work at the overbank turn (except for the remaining top layers of the topper track) and have the big crane over by the lift now.

That would make a lot more sense, wouldn't it? On a side note, I know this is far out into the future... How long do you think Goliath will last?

the track is a continuous tube, the grout forms basically one solid concrete rail throughout the ride (well 2). It's an important structural component.

Let's hope not!

Goliath will be here a lot more than 20 years. The Eagle has been here for about 35 years, Viper has been here almost 20 years, and neither one of them shows any signs of going anywhere anytime soon. I see no reason to think Goliath will have any less life than then (especially given the way it's being constructed should hopefully keep it running well for a long long time).
Goliath should last a really long time. Wooden coasters are not coasters that are just relocated to another park unless it has a rich history (like the little dipper). Unless there is some kind of structural/design issue (Son of Beast) wooden coasters last a long time
Leap The Dips is 112 years old, Little Dipper is over 60 years old. As long as they're maintained and repaired as damage occurs, there is no limit as to how long they can last. I remember 13 years ago people were saying "Whizzer and Demon have just a few years left"..... here we are 13 years later and both are still operating, even after that terrible recession we had and Six Flags going through bankruptcy. That itself is a pretty clear indicator that they are not that costly to maintain, as far as Demon getting the axe..... they just custom built X-Flight to specifically accomidate Demon, when they could have easily torn Demon out and made X-Flight alot longer.
They're lifting more pieces into place this morning including a piece of track about 30 minutes ago down towards the start of the zero-G stall.

I wish Goliath was longer but I'm not complaining about how long it is. It's going to be an awesome coaster regardless of its length. I wish X-Flight was longer too but it's still a fun coaster to go on. I don't care about how long a ride is...short or long, as long as it's fun and gives me the thrill that's what matters. I'm very excited to ride Goliath when it opens...whether that be the 24th, the 30th....whenever that will be is going to be a pretty awesome day in my opinion.
More track for the start of the Zero-G stall is going up now.
