^^Wow, that gives you a great idea of just how steep the drop (and the lift) are, with that seemingly short distance between the start of the lift and the bottom of the drop!

Yes it does! We already knew the drop (85 degrees) and lift (45 degrees I believe) were steep, but the webcam right now really gives you a nice idea.

P.S. Happy 100th birthday Wrigley Field!

I do have an idea of how high it will be, the main lift hill.
Image

This is an estimation of how high the Goliath lift will actually be from this webcam image.
As you can tell, I had to extend the webcam image in Photoshop and I carefully measured off the height using the 125ft. over banked turn, I just divided that in half and added 40ft to it.
This is where I think the 165ft. lift will end up.

Thanks for this picture and drawing of the lift. This will for sure give us an idea of what it will look like when the lift hill is complete.

You're welcome. Now, once they actually have the lift hill, drop, and zero G roll finished, I can compare it to that drawing I did and see how close it is, and if I was spot on.

I think you're forgetting perspective.

Yeah, as Sporlo mentioned - perspective. That bank is a lot closer to us & there is a slight "fisheye" to the lens/shot. The lift is not gonna be that sharp as estimated in your drawing.

It appears to be this section of the steel structure...

So the pieces of steel that sit on top of the zero G roll and hold up part of the lift are going in?

Hopefully we'll start to see some more lift/zero-g stall going in after the supports are done! Less than a month until Goliath(plans to) opens! Can't wait! :D

Today I went to the park to get some pictures of Goliath. So these are pictures from today April 25th. The pictures show the support for the lift hill/zero-g stall that was added today.

I really like the new Washington St. sign. However, the wood supporting it looks a bit out of place. Perhaps they might repaint them the same color (I think black would look cool with the white sign though).

I can only imagine the airtime and speed during the airtime hill and the hill into the breaks. I always wanted Six Flags Great America to have a signature coaster that will actually make enthusiasts jealous of our home park. (SFGAm is an amazing park, great theming, good collection of rides, but it was missing signature attractions). X-Flight didn't really fill that void, but Goliath sure did. :D
