Yeah, and by looking at the map, it looks like Goliath has that "Over Exagerated Height" gimmick. So considering that they did that, the station probably wouldn't prove a thing.

I really hope they get going on that lift and zero G stall! And for sure the trains will come very soon we should expect testing early May and the queue and station done by the opening.

Are the Goliath Preview night invites going out to all season pass holders? I got one at No Coaster Con back in January. I'm wondering how many people are gonna be there.
Also, on the new park map, it looks like the lift on Goliath has a tunnel on it
Huh? This has nothing to do with Outlaw Run. I don't think a tunnel will be put on Goliath. I am just responding to what CoasterDemon pointed out. Look at the map. Going up the lift hill of Goliath looks like a tunnel.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
I know that you were responding to CoasterDemon. Actually this has something to do with Outlaw Run. They are very similar coasters both built by RMC. That is what the lift of Outlaw Run looks like so I could see Goliath having something very similar to that, and not a tunnel. I have also seen the 2014 map numerous times, so you don't have to tell me to look at it.

Obviously I do based on the quote above that you look at the park map again. The animation looks like a tunnel is completely going up the lift hill. We are not talking about what will actually happen. We are talking about what is displayed on the map.
And I don't need a lesson about Outlaw Run and Goliath being from the same company.

I dont think that is a tunnel, rather a large railing on the lift. Also, the final render of Goliath does not show a tunnel of any kind on the lift hill. The artist who drew Goliath on the map might of over exagerated a few details.

It looks like the catwalk, just not sure why they made the sides look so tall. Then again, it is the park map which isn't accurate. However, since everyone else is throwing out theories based on this map, I'll throw out a possibility. If you look closely at the map, the so called "tunnel" going up the lift is open on the top. Maybe they're putting up some sort of wall on either side of the catwalk to reduce the noise of the lift. Not sure how much it would reduce the sound, but if anyone has ever been on Outlaw Run, you know how noisy it is.
With that said, I believe it's just the catwalk but I guess I can't say anything for sure until after the ride is finished. The purpose of a park map isn't to be accurate, it's just to help guide new timers and guests who don't visit frequently to all the attractions. I believe one year they even drew Viper's layout and Batman's train facing the wrong direction.

That's because the lemon chill guy obviously told the map guy that eventually Batman The Ride & Viper would go backwards! It was a sign of things to come! haha
Park maps are never accurate and you shouldn't look too much into this. Cedar Point has had only 2 tunnels on Magnum since I can remember and that ride has a total of 3 tunnels. I've seen layout problems countless times for countless parks. As someone else said, it's just to point guests to the right direction and no one is going to be like, "Wait a second....that lift hill doesn't have a tunnel....I must be in the wrong place."
Hank Salemi was asked at the Gurnee village board meeting by a board member last year if there would be a tunnel on the ride, and he said no, there would be no tunnel. I was not sure if the board member was asking about a possible tunnel on the first drop or after the drop or what, but I heard Hank's answer very clearly on the video of the meeting. Even the trench after the first drop appears to be open, which also seems to back up his answer. I am sure it is just a catwalk on the map. People do not scream their heads off going up a lift; they scream coming down it. A tunnel on the entire lift makes no sense and would take away from the experience.
Someone on YouTube commented that someone from the park told them that Goliath will be finished on May 17th and will test virtually non stop the next week before May 23rd. This can't be true. An average roller coaster needs 2-3 weeks of testing correct?

It's also what someone on YouTube posted. You could just make something up and say someone from the park told you that. It's definetly not true. The ride will be completed before then unless they are talking about the station and queue which should still both be done by then.
So... are they giving out the invitations to Goliath Preview Night to all season pass holders? (the mention of the park map tunnel got us on a tangent, sorry)

Well I honestly never believed that rumor. I just wanted to see what you great folks would think. I bet any money the ride will be completed in the first week of May, and the trains will arrive at the park sometime within the next few weeks.

Yes on Friday, May 23rd. If you have a season pass, take that night as an opportunity to get as many rides in as you can on Goliath since the next day when Goliath opens to the GP, the line is going to be EXTREMELY long. Probably 2-3 hours or more. The thing that is starting to make me feel anxious is that if the line is that long, alot of the folks will say the ride was not worth it and it will receive negative reviews and everyone will think the ride was a letdown since the ride is relatively short.
^I'm wondering because... if they have it open to all season pass holders (don't get me wrong, it's a good deal no matter what!) there could be thousands of people there. Then it's one ride if your lucky.
