Within minutes of being announced this morning, Wildfire was dubbed as "the Worlds Best wooden roller coaster". It will be RMC's largest coaster & the third originally designed coaster from the company after Goliath at Six Flags Great America opening this spring (depending on what 2015 has in store).
Wildfire will open in the spring of 2016, yes 2016. It will cost what seems to translate to over $16m.

Wildfire looks damn impressive for being RMC's first terrain coaster. The layout is definatly longer and more twisted than Goliath's. The park will benefit from a coaster like this greatly. I just wish I could afford a trip there to ride it!
The only thing I'm "upset" about was the hype Kolmarden & social media cleverly amped up for this ride. They got me to stay awake in the wee hours of the night for the announcement
The layout is great but there is nothing substantial to me that sticks out as I sadly was hoping for. I dont even know what that would have been but the OMFG WOW factor simply didn't happen for me. Then again, everyone was shocked when Maverick was announced & to me, that is simply one of the greatest layouts & ride experiences out there. So Wildfire could very well do/be the same. This coaster doesn't push records or gimmicks. It simply is a good, laid out ride. I'm very back n' forth with Wildfire lol
I may be biased (I am) but Goliath still excites me more. It's a compact intimidating looking coaster. We honestly shouldn't compare the two because they simply cannot be compared. They are totally different.
But its becoming a little clear that Alan is pushing RMC to be the new Arrow because every park will own one, let alone want one. They will spread quicker than an arrow looper in the 70's/80's lol Then again, who wouldn't want one? This is a fantastic new company to the industry.

Wouldn't Outlaw Run be considered a terrain coaster? It's built on a hill side.

You're right, it is a terrain coaster. It's on a forested hill side.
I just thought it was funny how TPR acted as if they had this big inside information...turns out they didn't. I think they were just over hyping it to get people to go on one of their trips.

LOL! Robb Alvey likes to over hype EVERYTHING on TPR.
