It's suppose to be a decent day weather wise. Hopefully they can get all the bents that they have already assembled put up today. I bet they could if they really wanted to.
8 weeks from today until Six Flags Great America opens and 11 weeks until Goliath opens!

They only took one small section of Picnic Grove for this. Brandon Bruce told me in December that Necropolis isn't going anywhere.

My friend had some meeting yesterday for being a supervisor there. She said that Necropolis isnt going anywhere, but they made it sound like its getting a makeover to make it ten times better. They told her that the picnic grove would become Fright Fest's star attraction since Fright fest doesn't really have one. Also she was told that Hurricane Harbor will have a 5 dollar up charge this season...
When you get to the top, and you hear that click, you better hang on, because your coming down quick!

I wonder how they will go about making it better. Do you mean you like the water park to get into itor once it is transformed into the Bermuda Triange?
^ That is incredibly stupid in my opinion. If they want to make it a separate fee, then make it a separate GATE. Also, if they wanted to mess with Harbor's admission set up, the time to do that would have been 2011 when they actually had a large expansion.
The $5 additional fee sounds like they want to try to milk more people into buying/upgrading to a season pass....
I'm not quite sure what the statistic is, but I'm willing to bet the majority of people walking through the gates on a daily basis are pass holders, and why wouldn't you be....the cost to have and obtain one (after you work out the logistics) is a bargain anyhow.
If they really wanted to charge the extra $5 for the few and far between, why not just tack it onto the Daily Admission and be done with it? Given the amount of promotions and deals the park already has in place...you'd be a fool to actually pay full price at any given point during the season.
This just sounds like a bad idea. Hurricane Harbor has been so heavily advertised as a free water park, that to randomly tack on a price, even if it's only $5 is just bound to piss people off. The chain as a whole needs to rethink their pricing. Doing things like this and high parking prices just makes people angry and gives them a bad impression of the parks. Put the extra prices on daily tickets and season passes. There's no mention of this anywhere on the park site so I'm hoping it's not true, but if it is it's a really bad move.
To jump back on topic, I know over the weekend the park was at an ACE event in PA to talk about Goliath. Anyone know if anything new was revealed?

Does anyone know why a crane is over at Camp Cartoon? Are they moving something over there or is it just parked there?

I don't mean to be rude, but how do we know that information is true? Unless I'm missing some official announcement, there is no hard proof that this is true. Just have to wait and see I guess!
The purpose of the $5 up charge to Hurricane Harbor, according to the park will be to hopefully reduced the amount of people that go to Hurricane Harbor. When it is extremely busy it isn't fun for anyone. They hope this up charge will deter some people from going to the Waterpark and stay in the dry park. The alternative to this is to lower the amount of people they allow in the Waterpark.
There are alot of things changing for 2014 all across the board. Most of these changes are for the better. Some of them won't be too popular. Try and look past those and realize that Six Flags is making a huge effort to be a better park this year. Before you go claiming that they are just trying to pinch every penny, wait until you can see the other great policies they will be implementing.

So the park is going to try their best to prevent people from entering Hurricane Harbor? Even when HH is packed, the dry side is just as busy as well. The up charge doesn't make any sense to me and the park hasn't confirmed anything. I certainly hope it's not true.
Back on Goliath, the overbank structure is really taking shape and looks great.

It also isn't fun for people to find out that they now have to pay for something that has been free for 8 years. If they want to control the crowds in HH, then lower the capacity. It would sound SO much better for people to hear, "Sorry, the water park is full right now" than "You can come in, but now you have to pay more."
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy they finally want to do something about the HH crowds. I barely go in because it's always so crowded. But this is simply not the way to handle it. All it's going to do is make people angry.
