That airtime hill looks a lot bigger than it did in the animation. This is going to be a HUGE ride!

I CAN'T wait till the ride is done! The ride will for sure look bigger in real life than it did in the animation.

If that airtime hill is that big, then maybe it will offer more airtime.

This ride will have more hang time (Zero G Stall/roll) than airtime. You will be hanging upside down in the inverted zero g stall for about 4 seconds! :o That four seconds is going to feel like a lifetime!

if they get that zero g roll feel while staying upside down, that may be my new favorite element and new favorite single coaster moment

The inverted zero g stall will be the first of its kind on a roller coaster. That dive loop however will be the first of its kind on a wooden roller coaster.

Not sure of your logic here. Airtime is determined by how fast the train is going at the top. So yeah . . .

What I was trying to say is that in the animation, the airtime hill looked rather small and the train seemed to be moving at about 60-65mph so I guessed it would offer a good does of ejector airtime like on El Toro. Now that the airtime hill seems larger in real life, it would probably offer less ejector airtime and more floater airtime.

Well I guess we will find out when it opens in the spring.

Yep we will have to wait and see. I really hope Goliath is ready to open on opening day. If it does open on opening day, I feel like the park will have it's most successful opening day like when Cedar Point opened Gatekeeper last spring.

I agree with you. Opening days lately haven't been very successful. SFGAm might have it's most successful season next year because so many people are going to want to ride Goliath since its going to be a record breaking wooden roller coaster.

Well, we sill have to wait and see. Hopefully Goliath opens on opening day but if not, it's not going to be the end of the world. I still however think the park will have one of its most successful seasons if not the most successful season in 2014. I thought fore sure that would be the case when X Flight opened in 2012 however, no one really liked it and it got countless negative reviews.

Hopefully SFGAm will become a more popular Six Flags park, and a more popular amusement park in general. Happy Birthday to you Jim Panky! :D I hope you have a great day buddy!

I will become a more popular Six Flags park however, it almost for sure won't be as popular as Six Flags Great Adventure or Six Flags Magic Mountain.

How awful do you want opening day to be? It's bad enough with cheap tickets and reduced capacity. Add in the opening of a major coaster and it would be even worse.

But they already said that the current plan is for it to open Memorial Day weekend. Maybe if the weather doesn't cause any issues we'll see that bumped up a week or two like with X Flight, but I would never expect to see any new ride ready opening day, at least not with the current corporate team.

that channel 9 video they said it's on track to open Memorial Day which judging by recent history with Six Flags, it's safe to assume that is in fact their target.

I guess it would be better that SFGAm opens up Goliath on memorial Day weekend. I think more people will come because that is the same week Hurricane Harbor opens for the season.

If Great America is planning to have a day where season pass holders can ride Goliath early like they did with X Flight, when will that date be?

They will have a day for season pass holders. If you check out the Quick Interview With Brandon Bruce that was one of the questions. Its probably to early to know when the date will be since we are not 100% when Goliath will open.
