I hate to break it to you, but I think there pulling a kings island and "leaking" the new coaster early. The major tipoff is "ermahgerd" six flags has trolled us all

But that is still a silly idea and I'd much prefer an inversion anyway.
A second pinch would be to turn the train back around to enter the loading station forwards again or else it would enter the station backwards after the switch, but I, too, agree It has to be an inversion.

Yes, inverted stalls hardly ever happen, but who knows what would have really happened to the people that got stuck in the loop on Demon with just a seatbelt. That would hurt so much if it was just a seatbelt. I can just imagine some younger kids on Demon thinking this is hurting so much that they are just going to try and get out of the ride, and than fall down. Sometimes, it's better to be safe than sorry.

... and this is why I think OTSRs may be an inevitability. Again, if the ride in any way, shape or form takes you past 90 degrees, there's a chance (no matter how minute) it can stop in that position, and in that position, the safe option is an OTSR. As you so perfectly eluded to, ask anyone who was on the Demon for an, um, extended period of time on Saturday, April 18, 1998 if they think OTSRs are or were necessary.
I'm hoping the issue won't be forced by another incident. But if one happens, I'm sure the discussion will begin. And yes, I'm looking at you, Hades 360.

Probably what happened to the people who got stuck on Sirocco upside down with just a lapbar - nothing.
In the crazy scenario that this new coaster ever got stuck upside down, everyone would be fine. Both the Gerstlauter and RMC trains have sufficient lap bars as well has ankle restrains that I would more than trust to hold me upside down. In fact, I think a OTSR would make the situation much more uncomfortable as you would all have your weight on your shoulders, and if you got stuck on an overbank it'd be on your neck. Yeah, that sounds fun.
Seriously, a wooden coaster does not need, nor should it ever have OTSRs.
in my opinion an over-the-shoulder seatbelt (vest-like; both shoulders) would be more comfortable than hard restraints in a stall. Again, sometimes you need structure for lateral stability (Iron Wolf since you're standing and have more leverage), but in GENERAL I think the best and most efficient way to go is securing your legs and your buttocks.
Here's a thought for all of you to ponder and tear apart: since it will be utilizing wolfs station presumably, what if it was the first 4 across woodie? I cant think of a great reason why it couldn't be done.
-Remember there's nothing but air beneath the chair.
See that blue rectangle. That is the outline of the new station. It is slightly longer and narrower than the old station. Once again, anything on that drawing that is not red, blue, or green means nothing. I'm pretty sure this coaster won't be using Iron Wolf's footers either

I'd be a lot more comfortable in such a situation, at least mentally, that I have something underneath my personage rather than something that's holding me in a way that's leaving half my body dangling, and I'd take the physical discomfort of pressure on my shoulders or neck over the mental discomfort of hoping my legs don't sweat enough that I fall out. And goodness knows there are some enthusiasts, including some who probably linger here, who do the whole "see if you can get away with the restraints being looser" thing to get more airtime. Which means, in that rarest of rare stalls (which is what you put the OTSRs on for), they're the ones who fall out.
I dunno -- it just seems like the easiest way to prevent what happened in Texas to me, and if there becomes a legit concern that folks may fall out of these things (which will happen if someone else does in the relative near future), then I would not be surprised.
^^^ Im kind if glad it won't be using wolfs station. It's about time that area gets a modernized station and queue. I really don't agree with the size of it, they could make it a little wider to accommodate large crowds (unless they put an attendant at the top of the station helping with traffic flow.
As for the four across seating, that would be amazing for capacity and much more! It would also probably ass to the experience if its arranged like they are on behemoth and diamondback (sorry, first two that came to mind)
As for they queue, probably updated and on the opposite side of the station that IWs was.
That leaves out.....County Fair Stage: Coming soon to a landfill near you!
JimPanky wrote:It would be awesome if it sat more than 2 to a row. Are there any woodies out there that do?
No there aren't.
There is one thing about the station being about the same size as Iron Wolf, the train is half as wide. The chutes for each row in that station are fine, it's just the space behind them. Hopefully there will be a queue for front row too so that doesn't block things.

Why couldn't they move the stage to Southwest Territory to the left of the Amphitheater.

With kids I trust lapbars and otsrs more than seatbelts. Kids can't get out of otsrs & lapbars ON COASTERS rather than just seatbelts. This is unless the seatbelts are like the ones on Skyscreamers in which they actually lock. Some kids get scared so much on rides in which they just want to exit when the ride is moving. Why do you think so many rides now have seatbelts like Condor, Ricochet, and East River Crawler along with lapbars? None of them really need both a seatbelt & a lapbar, but it's an extra precaution.

^It's not karaoke this year. They had a 90's show there which I really, really should have seen. I walked past it once, but than I don't know. I forgot, or just don't go through that area a lot.

I, too, walked past it once. It sounded out of tune and the dancing looked very 'meh'. Perfectly fine by me if they send the stage to southwest territory; by which I mean Branson, Missouri, about nine hours south-by-southwest by car.
I reiterate my position that the one show worth seeing in the general park this year (not including anything in the Grand Music Hall) was "Madcap Mardi Gras." We actually stopped to watch that and were entertained.
I liked the Reflections 70 & 80s show also, but than it only lasted a short, short time. The 60s was okay, but if people really like 60's music, people might have really liked that show more than I did.
