The only GCI launch coaster I found any reference to is a junior shuttle woodie that doesn't launch faster than 45 mph. I hope we are getting something bigger and faster than this!

Edit: Here's the article since it's the start of a new page. Talks about the world's fastest wooden coaster coming to the park.
I'm amused by the people who think that either the Daily Herald or the Mayor are making things up or lying in order to mislead a few hundred people who care about this stuff (especially since the actual announcement is just a week away). If you think that's really happening, you're vastly overestimating the power the park has.
1. Roller Coaster of 165 feet. 2. Will be placed at the former location of Iron Wolf in County Fair. 3. Wooden Coaster 4. Potential "Fastest Wooden Coaster"
At this point ANYTHING else other than these 4 points is pure speculation...
I really believe the wooden coaster thing. In the future, I can see a eurofighter going in SWAmp's area a skyscreamer going somewhere in the park, a new show, a zacspin or premier launch like superman:uf (maybe both) in RC's area. Also, it seems like they have a very large portion left on the back half of Dark Knight's queue building, so maybe a smaller flat ride could fit in there. Not to mention, we really need to get a ferris wheel, even if it means a different company reinvents the sky whirl (maybe on the lake near yankee and loggers, like on a pedestal, and they can draw some more crowds to that area).
By the way, when i said 2 coasters in the same location, it's actually quite simple. Just build one in front of the other and build the queue under the station, like whizzer. For example, use RC's queue for a premier launch and put it in the front. Then make the single rider line go off the the right and down some stairs to lead to a zacspin with a raised station and the queue underneath it. the keep the exit for the premier and just build an exit path for the zacspin that joins the premier one (if that makes any sense).

^ I just don't see this park adding any of those low capacity coasters aside from maybe a Premier launch that at least has full trains. Attendance is too high and the lines would be too long. The days of mouse coaster capacity are over at SFGAm in my opinion.
Im still trying to decide if its some new first gen launched wooden coaster or if its just one insane drop ie: 90degree top hat off lift or a very high speed lift hill. I would say no way will this be an out and back if the park intends to keep eagle. The park has an airtime/hill monster in raging bull and a legendary out and back in eagle. We also have a good twister in viper. I think given the height of the new ride... and the supposed three records, we will have an epic one of a kind monster. I would hope we have the most inversions of any wooden coaster, be the fastest, and have the steepest drop. I also hope this is a decent capacity ride with a decent ride length and pacing. Batman x flight and viper are my in park favorites because of pace and zero dead time. I hope they can really hit a home run with a ground breaking ride.
My reaction to the zOMG 90 DEGREE LAUNCH RMC FASTEST EVER 9 INVERSIONS !!!1!1!!one:
It may very well be an RMC woodie, it could be a GCI woodie, it could be the resurrection of RCCA for all we know. Anything beyond a woodie, 165 feet max, and Iron Wolf spot is purely coming out of our own heads. Is it launched? Maybe. Like I said, just off the top of our heads.

I wasnt saying all of those things. Was simply saying we havent had two back to back record breaking world class coaster since shockwave iron wolf and batman in 88 90 92. Would be nice to get either a world first or at least a world record and world class coaster.

The comedic recesses of my brain, how they hurt...
I was simply illustrating the fact that we have absolutely no idea who is manufacturing the coaster in a slightly comedic and tongue-in-cheek way. Why would I think RCCA is coming back? For all we know about the actual coaster design itself they might as well be.

Sarcasm doesn't ever translate very well for me online and for that it is my mistake. Although you would be surprised how many people on the King's Island forum truly believe that RCCA/Son of Beast can make a comeback.
If the wooden coaster turns out to be the thing, I hope there's nothing too wonky about it. No launch, no inversions, no water splashdowns or anything like that. Tall, fast, curvey optional.
So you want another American Eagle or Viper? We have rides like your describing. Im sure it will have something new. We have no need to build another classic wooden coaster.
or if they want it to sound tasteful, which I really doubt they care about, could go for something like Timberwolf. Either that or Goliath, any DC Comic theme, Mind Eraser, etc.

Iron Rattler is the second best coaster Ive ever been on. Its only second due to its length. It was very short but not one second of it was un-enjoyable! If this said wooden coaster is like that, none of you will complain - & IF you do/did, its clear you're gonna b!t@h about anything & everything the park does. So dont go, & we who love it will. Yay! ;D
All I know so far is I'm excited & I do hope for a great ride. If its an RMC, fantastic. If not, oh well. RMC is the next gen of woodies & not one of them have a bad rep. Well...... ya know what I mean. :/
Interesting article from the Lake County Sun detailing the new coaster. This article is very conservative, even to the point that says nothing is a given because they have pulled agendas in the past. The article does indicate from a GA spokesperson that seems to indicate we won't find out a lot about the ride on Wednesday!!!
I was at the park on Sunday and will have a full round up on the other forum, but will post about the new coaster in the morning. I rode the train to get a look at IW's spot and have compiled my thoughts!
