I don't think that's so far fetched. A Guinnes World Records show in SWA.

This is the funniest one I've read so far.

I've got it! They're going to have a day next year where they set a world record for the most people drinking Guinness at once! And they'll be pouring them from the world's largest tap — at least 130 feet tall, which will require the height clearance!

I just can't see us getting another show after we just got one this year. Another show wouldn't bring a lot of people into the park next year. At least I don't think so.

I'd love to see an intense launch coaster next year. Vertical Velocity's launch is just.... alright 8)

A Full Throttle type ride would be awesome.

If it is a coaster, I hope it is something truly unique that we've never seen before, like Batman was back in the 90's.

1999: Raging Bull
2001: V2 and Deja Vu
2003: Superman: Ultimate Flight
2004: Ragin' Cajun

It's VERY possible.

How about....

88- Shockwave
89- Rolling Thunder
90- Iron Wolf
92- Batman

I don't think what the park has done in the past is much indication of what they'll do now. During those times the park was under very different corporate management with very different spending styles. It'd be more accurate to look at the pattern of ride additions from 2010 and after, not from a time when even Six Flags America was getting major coasters every year.

If it's a roller coaster then it might wrap around Giant Drop tower. Launch coaster sounds legit here. Follow the journey rocky theme makes sense as for Southwest territory. They could use coca cola cool zone as queue and station. Tower could also mean that vertical drop? vertical lift? Euro fighter type of coaster with vertical launch? Plus it has to be a record breaker

Park president seems like gives hint as "that's a GIANT mistake" as well as "SWING by"... this kind of gets me thinking of sky screamer and a roller coaster.
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!

S&S Screaming Swing maybe? Or maybe a new type of Swing from a different company that might break some sort or record? That doesn't seem like something you'd put in a record book though.

Just to clear things up, I was being sarcastic. It's surprising some of you thought I was serious. Does anyone know if other SF parks are having a campaign similar to this?

SFGAm seems to be the only park that likes to advertise their rides before the official announcement. Even for igNight, SFGAm did it while most parks stayed quiet.

SFGAm has the best marketing team in the chain by far. Also, will the agenda be posted on Gurnee's website under "meetings" sometime tomorrow? I read a few pages back that they post that the Friday before.

@SFGreat_America @SFGAmWorld That's a neat site and I enjoyed the speculation. I'll have to join later. My guess is Giant Drop backwards!

^^^ Yes, in the past the agenda has included information about the kind of attraction and the height variance(s) it would need approval for. I would imagine that it would have some detail, but the park may have their bases covered here as well.

I've got to give major compliments to the park for keeping everyone baffled by this announcement...they're doing it right by playing all ends of the spectrum for sure! :D

Considering how Drop works, I think Sir Issac Newton would have a problem with this idea.

Aside from what it would take to accomplish this feat (as previously discussed here, a complete redesign and rebuild of the ride), for all of us who referred to Namtab and Repiv, Drop spelled backwards is Pord, and "Giant Pord" does not sound all that appealing.

Looks like random person wearing a hoodie from RMC's IAAPA booth. Why would he be in the entrance/exit queue and not the service road? It's so dumb.
