New Ride(s) for 2014

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

The whole "ground shattering" theme in the teasers might mean "ground breaking" after all. A Premier Rides launching coaster with an even bigger inversion than Full Throttle wouldn't surprise me at all. Having the tallest loop in the world is definitely "ground breaking".

You're joking about him being a bad employee right? You realize this is scripted right? With the ideas people come up with I wouldn't be too sure.

Increasing the height of drop and adding the acrophobia type seats with them turning down like Falcon's Fury? That actually sounds extremely awesome, but doubt it'll happen...

RMC Woodie. where Southwest Amphitheater is now, or at least surrounding it. I don't see them remaking American Eagle, but I could see an RMC woodie in Southwest Territory. Record Setting? Maybe steepest drop, or even most inversions on a woodie. No idea.

Showing Giant Drop throws me off even more. Does that mean the ride will be Southwest Territory, possibly taking the spot of the Southwest Amphitheater? Does it mean something is happening to Giant Drop or could it mean that something is going to be taller than Giant Drop? We might find out tomorrow on the agenda for this coming Wednesday.

Yes, I am joking. Just pointing out that it's difficult for me to bring my suspension of disbelief to the point where I would believe Hank would take the time to personally deal with anyone in a neon yellow shirt. Ever.

Scurried to Google Maps after we began talking "launched," "Southwest", "Drop" and "Amphitheater" again. You know, a launched coaster doesn't have to take up all that much space. Full Throttle isn't on Google Maps yet, but Mr. Freeze in St. Louis is and it really does look like it could fit into the space currently occupied by the Amphitheater, Drop and maybe River Rocker.

PLUS, then it might make sense as to why they have to "close" Eagle Blue — it would only be a temporary closure so they can work on the new coaster land.

Hmm ... a launched coaster in place of a ride I despise (Drop), a ride that nearly made my girlfriend puke this weekend (Rocker) and a place with shows I don't go see (the Amphitheater)?

I can see a coaster taking the place of the Southwest Amphitheater, however that means 4 coasters very close together (X-Flight, American Eagle, Demon, possible 2014 coaster). If it's going to be a eurofighter or boomerang coaster, I can see it in southwest. Anything bigger like a Premier launch I see coming to the IW site

Just a thought but the superman ride at six flags discovery kingdom has the tallest inversion.....they could be building a familiar ride like that with the worlds tallest inversion? that could fit where the amphitheater is now couldn't it?

I thought SUF at SFDK was 150 ft. and Full Throttle's loop itself was 160 ft? Doesn't FT have the tallest inversion?

Does anyone know how far into the ground the amphitheater goes? That will probably be a major factor if we tear it out and put something in...

Another note at the very beginning is is camera 05, and the only queue not occupied on Giant drop is also #5.
Maybe nothing & (5)00 feet is not an option.
Admin cam is _2013 which does not make sense (unless announcement year) which it too obvious. Unless it is a launch like MM and that is the year that was installed. I guess maybe 2013 could be the last year of Eagle blue as it currently is.
Her does mention he has "swing" by Gary Pullamn is SW Territory - which makes you think.
SFGAm must sit at their computer after they post the video and watch and see how much they can confuse us.

Full Throttle was advertised as the tallest loop. I believe you're right, but it's too much travel and I don't have a long enough tape measure to say for sure.

That Superman ride did have a problem once ... but dang, it also looks pretty doggone cool. Interest piqued.

The only logical record breaker is the world's first launched wooden coaster. This coaster will also be manufactured by B&M.

Gate 5 is only open when Giant Drop is not allowing Flash Pass, because the Flash Pass riders take Car 5.

Addendum: I'm picturing B&M wood track. No connected latticework of 2×4 planks like a traditional woodie. No, I'm seeing a series of logs connected together with sticks sticking out of them at intervals and the rails on top of those sticks.

Kind of wish I had the time to Photoshop something.

OK, fine, caught me, didn't realize they had made a train for a wood coaster once.

Then again, after reading Psyclone's Wiki, it sounds like most people who visited the park tried to forget Psyclone was there, anyhow.

The Full Throttle Mug was probably to throw off all the enthusiasts following the video. SFGAM even posted on their Twitter saying they're having a great time reading the speculation on this thread.

I have a bad feeling that not only the SW amphitheater will possibly be removed. Something tells me that nothing will be changed with Eagle, but something else will have to be removed or modified. As for names of a new ride, how about reuse the name Trailblazer?

Full Throttle is the worlds tallest loop. Gatekeeper has the tallest inversion.

And B&M also designed trains for Steel Dragon 2000

Drop? Obviously they've been hammering "tower" over and over and over. Southwest Terr. (where GD is), rolled up paper, GD ride ops, "swing" for Sky Screamer, and the falling title/logo sequence.

So, is GD being removed, replaced, or is it just getting a sibling?? I personally don't mind the Sky Screamer concept (they're a lot better than Windseekers), but there is just way too much hype and potential misdirection for that to be the main point.

Also, that tweet: https://twitter.com/SFGreat_America/sta ... 8749172736
