Not gonna lie, I wouldn't really mind them removing the following rides: Ragin Cajun, Jester's Wild Ride, Condor, Revolution, Winners Circle Go Karts.
Since they now have 4 funnel cake restaurants, they could convert the County Fair one into a queue line and put a skyscreamer on that little hill.
If they park is going to call it sky screamer, the best areas for it would be either hometown square or county fair.
Even removing the 3 point challenge would be fine by me. Also, take out the SF Outfitters in Mardi Gras. Opening day it had a sign saying it'll open memorial day weekend, then in mid-july i saw a sign that said it was closed until fright fest. what's the point of having a shop that's only open a month and a half during the summer season?
When new ride announcements are released, it seems like people focus more on major locations rather than looking at ALL the possibilities. I know I could name nearly 20 locations where a skyscreamer could fit nicely.

Because they can be very cruel to us innocent enthusiasts (I know you guys read these forums, please dont do that, it hurts us inside)

"I'm Nick and I haven't rode a coaster since June 10th 2014"
Heres my wild guess (not really). When the guy in the video walks into the building, above the door there is a poster showing a coaster car with yellow shoulder restraints. Maybe a clue for a new coaster? Maybe not?

With you. Thing is, the folks that drive "buzz" are two sets of people: The GP teens that are all over social media, and us enthusiasts, and both groups only buzz if we're thinking coaster, even if that's not what's best for the park. So they've learned to tease coaster, whether it's a coaster or not, to drive buzz. To a degree, we've kind of dug our own graves.
That's why I think the key is to not get too excited until we've found out something is happening to get excited about. Think, theorize, be smart, but don't be all "OMGZ I HAVE TO KNOW COASTER COASTER COASTER!" It's kind of like dating. If you're too eager too quickly, you're just going to freak the girl out and probably end up disappointed. If you study, lay back and be cool, though, good things might happen later and you might be pleasantly surprised.
/Wait a minute, I'm talking about dating with coaster enthusiasts ... probably not the most relatable topic.

I think it's really because a lot the actual places you mention make the park money. I think the reason for the extra funnel cake place is because the waterpark one failed. They used to have one in the waterpark, but I guess no one was buying it. It's probably just because with the way they made the waterpark, they made the food much too far from the wavepool seats which is the most crowded portion of the waterpark. Now, why does that matter? Well, a lot of people get funnel cake sundaes, and the ice cream melts. What's strange though is that they replaced the funnel cake place in the waterpark with an ice cream place which doesn't make much sense either.
You were saying about the Mardi Gras shop that isn't open very long, and I think the problem with something like that is that it's hard to fit a ride instead of that shop. What could you really fit in there. A Moser Spring Tower, and that's about it. It's too small for a bigger family flat ride. They make a lot of money off of that basketball thing in Hometown Square, so that's not going anywhere for awhile. For a lot of people, that's like a show watching the person miss so many baskets. If the park really wanted to, they could potentially add another ride right next to Sky Trek Tower. There is a lot of grass in that area, but I doubt that would ever happen. Yes, there are other spots they can put rides like Trailblazer, but I just don't see it anymore. For something like Trailblazer area, the park just pretends like it doesn't exist anymore - putting the windows over it, and just having it for a line for the haunted house.
-------------- Just to mention, someone said that the park when they went was more crowded this year.
I can't tell you that I know the attendance because I don't, but what I feel is that attendance can really relate to the waterpark, and more freebies that are in the SFGAm book. For this year, it just seems like there are so many bring a friend for whatever in the book compared to other years. Besides that theory, the weather isn't great this year, so people come and some of the time, they aren't going in the waterpark because it's colder / no sun / windy, or they expect rain for the day. Just for this week, Saturday, Sunday & Monday aren't terribly wonderful days for the waterpark. I'm sure there will be people, but temps are 75, and 2 - 77 days. You also have less people riding the water rides in the regular park because of the temps. Maybe, only 1 out of the 2 flumes are open which is more capacity lost in the regular park.
Earlier in the year, I can easily blame a lot of the one train operation for it feeling more crowded. When you cut the capacity in half, it's going to feel worse than it was.

It hurts you inside? Really? Lol
If you are emotionally distraught over a theme park announcement you'd best find help with your emotions. You'll find out eventually. This reminds me of those who freaked out over Xflight opening a week late. Are you going to die if it doesn't open on day one? Are you going to die if you don't find out what this is now instead of two weeks from now? No. I want to hear the announcement as much as the next person but im not going to lose any sleep over it.
The 2 biggest rumors circulating deal with Cajun and Eagle.....
A rumor being BIG has nothing to do with it's probability.
That's why I said Here's a total stretch.....I'm well aware it could mean nothing, or it could mean something. Anyone who works in PR knows exactly what's trending 'through the grapevine'....I'm positive they purposefully planned the video in that section of the maintenance shop since they know that's what's being talked about in the enthusiast community.

I tend to think something might be going on one way or the other with Ragin Cajun. They did have Ragin Cajun cars in the last teaser.
They will never get rid of Go Karts. It will move it to every end of the park before they remove a pay-extra attraction that brings in so much extra money.
Revolution is one of the top 3 flat rides along with Giant Drop and King Chaos.
Anyone else notice this car as David is walking through the hallway? I don't think its a coaster car though, it has headlights.
EDIT: Rewatched the video looking at the car, it appeared to have a steering wheel and mirrors. It's definitely not a coaster car, but it looks like its themed to something apocalyptic/fright fest

Well to be fair PP, not all enthusiasts are like "that". For instance, I quite enjoy showers, bathing, deodorant, my girlfriend and talking about things other then RCDB and amusement parks
You lost more people at the "think" bit in my opinion
Johnny.Ink wrote:For instance, I quite enjoy showers, bathing, deodorant, my girlfriend and talking about things other then RCDB and amusement parks
We're rare ones, you and I.
Cool story, bro: Girlfriend and I were in line once behind an enthusiast, classic-coaster-T-shirt and all (I think it was Mean Streak or something), waiting to get his 11th or 12th ride on X-Flight that day. When he jumped in on our conversation, it was impressive for about 30 seconds. Then we both started to realize there was something a bit off when we couldn't get a word in edgewise and any statement we made about where we had been had to be countered with how many places he had been and coasters he had ridden. Made a point to pick a seat away from his. Didn't see if he walked right back into the line, but wouldn't have been surprised.
Cool story, bro, Part II: Were in St. Louis and rode Ninja. Kid behind us, looked high school or college age, there by himself, expressionless, walks quickly through the exit queue, then starts jogging purposefully and pacedly towards another part of the park, not at all flustered as if his mom had called him back to the family or as if there was an emergency or something but with a sense of purpose akin to what I see out of runners. First ride of the day? OK, I can see a jog for that. But a few hours in? Something tells me he had credits on the brain.
I feel like it's these kinds of folks who ruin the fun.

Yeah. Sorry. My bad. I keep having this expectation people will think, and I'm continuously disappointed. Thanks for keeping me in check.

You can't be serious.....Way to ruin a themed area If any area should get a DC universe conversion, it's Mardi Gras. Not to mention, Six Flags isn't the kind of company that blows money on something as useless as a theme change. It's only happened a few times within a park that I can think of....This EXCLUDES ride rotations. And those few examples are medusa going bizarro and Superman ride of Steel going Bizarro as well.

Well Maybe The Whole "SOUTHWEST" Theme Is Getting Old I Mean Its Not The 80s Anymore Nobody Likes Cowboys People Are In To Villans Also Who Asked For Your Negitivety

Really? LOL
Stop posting about stuff that will never happen......"Giga Coaster" Plus I'm pretty sure re-theming those areas would also not happen I mean really.....you want to change Raging Bull from the awesomeness it already is? No thanks!
^^^^^^I won't speak about those people personally, but all I have to say is that amusement parks are a passion to people just like a person having season tickets to the Cubs (Watch a movie like Fever Pitch), people that tailgate and have to go to all the Nascar events, or someone loving Star Wars alot. I wouldn't be surprised if there are people that go see movies every week, or people that go to the mall (not to work) three times a week. I think everyone in this world has something they love. There is a reason why I think there are much more guy enthusiasts than women enthusiasts but than you would call me sexist, so I won't say anything.
