All in all im glad superman will have 2 trains in operation this weekend. Wonder if xflights 1st train is having an issue? Because Wednesday it still looked same and has not changed!

This is the closest thing I can find to my opinion.
How soon we forget: There were a lot of plans in the hopper this spring (igNight, East River Crawler reinstall, Namtab, the front entrance) and we had one of the lousiest springs weather-wise we've had in a while time.
St. Louis had it even worse with snow right before Opening Day. They just announced they've had to push back Boomerang's opening. We're not alone.
The problem has only been exacerbated, too, by the weather gods flipping a switch and making the first few weekends since the park opened gorgeous, meaning even more people see a behind-schedule park.
I'm not concerned. The park is doing a lot of the right things. I just filled out my first after-visit survey of the year and gave them mostly high marks. Everyone relax. It's just a theme park. It'll be fine.

Of those, namtaB is the only one with any validity. All rehab work on the coaster trains is done indoors, igNight and the new entrance were not built by maintenance, and East River Crawler is in a different maintenance section than any of the rides that weren't ready. Not saying there isn't a reason, but that stuff isn't it. I'd say namtaB, whatever issues they're having at X Flight, and just bad luck.
For those of you who do not follow the park's postings on twitter... I guess there'll be an announcement on July 8th! (The park is posting everything in backwards text. You have to start reading from the end to beginning, right to left)
Twitter Update: "Standby for a... tnemecnuonna gniticxe" "We are about to announce the end date of Batman Backwards" "... But the good news is we are also about to announce a full season of backwards with 2 additional rides for you to try BACKWARDS!"
EDIT: "Announcement 1: The last day to ride Batman The Ride BACKWARDS will be July 7" "Announcement 2: The American Eagle will run backwards this fall!" "Announcement 3: For the first time ever, Viper BACKWARDS beginning July 8! http://youtu.be/sGzU91Z3psQ "
All this backwards stuff sounds great, but boy is that tricky marketing. The two novel backwards experiences don't overlap at all, so if you don't think they'll bring them back in the near future, you have to go twice in the same year!

Which I'm sure the park will just hate!
It's not tricky marketing, it's great marketing. The general public loves backwards roller coasters. By having all three at different times, now someone who would only go once a year has an incentive to go three times.
Agree marketing. People luv it when rides go backwards ie eagle whats next Whizzer in reverse for next year. But could this also be a clue or a hidden message for whats going to replace the Iron wolf area in the future a ride that goes backwards and forward who knows.
^^I don't think it's a hidden clue to anything at all. For Batman, we pretty much know that other parks are going to be getting the backwards Batman thing. They figure that enthusiasts are going to want something else backwards after Batman is backwards. Last year and this year, Six Flags St. Louis has run Mr. Freeze backwards (at first). It's a gimmick, and maybe it's also has to do with thrill people not really caring for this Ignight thing at all. It's to give them something new. I think a lot of people were disappointed when they announced Ignight.
Sure, the park might get some people that are just coming for the backward stuff, but what I think is going to happen is that people are going to expect Batman backwards in August, and be mad when it isn't in August. Sure, enthusiasts will come a lot because they follow the park, and their backwards thing, but regular folks probably aren't going to come 3 times just because this coaster is backwards. Their is too much advertising of Batman backwards for people to think that Batman will be backwards for 2 months & a week only. I think some people even think the Dark Knight (Batman) coaster is backwards because it's themed to Batman.
Besides some of the coaster train problems / other rides, what I really don't like is that they won't open up the gates before the time to get in just so they can reduce the metal detector lines, like how it's always been. I get there 10 minutes earlier, and I'm finally at the ride of my choice at 10:50 am which is ridiculous that it's taking that much time. I imagine that I would have to stand in line at the metal detectors at 9:30 am just to get on a ride of my choice at 10:35 am. If that's not bad enough this year, they don't open till 10:30 am just to cut some hours. It seems that's all they are doing now - cutting hours. They cut the waterpark hours, and now the regular park. And sure, their excuse might be that they are going to run Ignight at 10 pm, and thus it's like the park is open till 10:30, but that's not really true because that's the only thing open. You can go in line at 10:15 pm, and ride Whizzer.

Two updates on the NBC story. It's interesting that one of the former employees responds to one of these responses in the feedback portion of the website...

I agree....it's kind of ridiculous but part of me wonders if that was the exact reason they decided to go with the metal detectors as a separate check-in point.
Regardless, every Six Flags park in the chain has been at 10:30am openings for about 4-5 years now....I'm kind of surprised that GAm held out as long as it did with the 10am openings.
East River Crawler now has lights on it. Still no cars / still no spokes for the arms though, top isn't on either.

Yay(: finally yesterday xflight was still the same no cover .. Nothing but they were working on it! Glad to hear that its now being assemblied finally no 2 hour wait(:
Do we have a confirmed date for the launch of Ignite yet? I know they were saying June 1st a while back, but I haven't seen them say anything about it recently. Can't find anything on their site either (which really needs updating.)

June 14th is the launch of the new igNight Grand Finale show. That is the date that was given from a park employee in the Pictorium after I saw a showing of Screams and Dreams III.
Huh?? What happened? I heard June 1st also before..
