First off, I'd call the odds of that slim, unless you know something we don't. I think Demon will fall before Whizzer, based off ridership alone, and you don't generally paint a place in preparation to remove it.
Nonetheless, I'll play your game, you rogue, just for kicks. Since there's been that launched rumor, that's the first thing that comes to mind, maybe with something like that newfangled Full Throttle ride at Magic Mountain, but that space would seem to beg for something more traditional. A GCI? I could see one there. And how about this for a name/theme, given the placement in Hometown Square and, essentially, at the front of the park — a familiar name to the chain and an idea I know some of you will absolutely hate, but an opportunity to continue a Six Flags tradition with … The NewGreat American Scream Machine. Seems like it would make sense to have a ride with "Great American" in the name at, you know, Great America.
Well I didn't say whizzer was next. I'm just saying it won't last forever. That is one of the largest footprints in the park so it will be interesting to see what SFGAm does with it. I worked at demon for two years and it was my 2nd favorite to operate next to Eagle. But I agree, I think Demon will (and should) be next for the chopping block. Demon is another footprint with endless possibilities if the park removed the useless theater and the unused building where trailblazer was....almost all the events there could be moved to picnic grove. And I say almost because the other theater isn't big enough for concerts.

Fair enough, and interesting thinking. Yeah, I keep wondering if Demon's days are numbered.
It is a classic and an original, but it's also a headbanger and usually the shortest wait among coasters in the park. I think it's really hard not to project personal biases onto coasters you do/don't want to ride when it comes to coasters you do/don't want to remove. But most of us didn't want to ride Iron Wolf and it disappeared. I think we all like Demon, but it's not always the easiest ride on the head and it seems to be at the bottom of the list to ride for most of us now (not all, most). There will be a contingent that will cry foul if they try to take it out, based on the original status and its place at the heart of Fright Fest. But ... someday, sometime, something's gotta give.
My bottom four coasters in the park are V2 (doesn't do much), Batman (too rough), The Dark Knight (dull) and Demon. V2, even with its occasional issues, seems too new to remove and eats people. With Batman backwards, and its iconic status, I don't see it going anywhere, either. TDK is its own beast and I don't know if a lot of people even really care what happens to it.
I feel like Demon is the next to go. It's just a matter of when, and it doesn't have to be anytime soon, but yeah.
Batman isn't too bad when it comes to it's head-banging....I've been on worse. You should try Cedar Points Raptor in the back, now that hurts. V2 and Demon are definitely my bottom two. V2 is just.....eh. I only like going up the back spike and getting air-time.
When it comes to demon, get rid of it but keep it's theme alive. Re-do it's theming to be more modern, give it a new song and blah blah blah. It would be the easiest marketing ever if you think about it.

We had trouble with Batman last year. Maybe it was just where we were sitting or when we went. I still enjoy Batman in the front row, though, and I have to get to Cedar Point sometime. It was on our list for last year, but my girlfriend ended up having to do a lot of travel for something else and we're still recouping financially.
Debating whether to try it backwards. Different chassis might mean different ride, but the disorienting nature of not knowing where we're going might make it worse. Pam's greyed out briefly on Batman before, too, so I can't imagine backwards being any better and I'd rather not spend time in First Aid. Think I'll pass.

A friend of mine pointed out that the chassis aren't new....but this is debatable since they look "new". Next time you're there, look between the seats and the top of the chassis and you'll see a block that could be an adapter. Next time I go I'll pay more attention to it.
Backwards isn't so bad, there's a lot of polyurethane wheels to slow it down and offers a smoother ride. It's actually pretty noticeable that the ride is slower. Although it's a bigger head-banger, I'd sit towards the back so that there's no one in front of you because it's a little less disorienting.

Orbit opened (just has a white circular piece in the middle / not painted anymore), and Demon was stuck on the lift hill / had to be evacuated. Something is really wrong with it for them to do that.
Batman's other train almost looks finished to be ready to go. I would say they need 2 more rows on the other train. Whizzer's 2nd train only has 1 car on the track, and another car is on the ground. Remember Whizzer has 4 cars.

Let's hope that namtaB and X-Flight have both trains ready by this weekend! I know that X-Flight's second train only needed seats installed on the first row from what I saw on Sunday.

Even after all the seats are installed, they're not done. Maintenance cycles them and then the ride crew needs to send it out a certain number of times. Then when that's done the train is removed in order to take the water dummies out. THEN you can ride it.

That is true but im sure that takes a day I wouldn't be surprised if there main goal is to have them up for Saturday
X Flight will NOT run 2 trains this weekend. Absolutely nothing at X Flight has changed since Sunday. I can report that all 7 cars of namtaB's second train appear to be assembled and maintenance was working on finishing it off. Also, Whizzer's second train is fully assembled on the storage track and loaded with weight bags
Orbit is open, but the Great America logo is gone
Bill's Lemonade in Southwest
Bill's Lemonade in Yukon
Water dummies being removed from Eagle Blue
Entrance landscaping is done. Still waiting on shingles
Not much progress here
Second train is ready to go at Whizzer
Second train at namtaB was being finished up. All I could see missing were the armrests on the first 2 rows
Crawler
igNight
So the closing day Twitter hunt, there was a prize behind the barber pole in County Fair. The tape is still there
They still have a while to go yet before they put Crawler back in operation. The cabins were sitting on the backstage pass just behind Condor. They were painting the exterior of the ride and oiling the hydraulics/bearings, etc...
As for namtaB, it didn't look like all the seat covers were installed; I saw a few loose ones yet as we entered the shop. Maintenance was making good progress nonetheless.
American Eagle's blue side was not ready to go yet; they had weights resting in the seats yet. I don't know why.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

Hopefully they get Batmans train up and running by tomorrow! And love to hear the progress! They are definitely hard at work to get the park fully operational(:
At the park in line for Eagle and Blue has made a few test cycles. Maintenane is also bringing out the cars for Blue's second train and is being assembled. Their wasting no time which is good.
Great! I'd say this seems like a pretty good job for Batman's 2nd train to me. I imagine switching to backwards does make it more difficult to get trains ready quickly right? I expected Batman's 2nd train to take longer considering the change-over.
Was anyone at the park today? I noticed around 630 xflight was stucj outside the station and the station had been cleared out. Wonder what happen? Also does anyone know when it went Down and if they had to evacuate the train?
X-flight - train one still same as Friday and is still broken down from sunday American Eagle Blue train 1 or 2(not sure) - still has 3 cars connected. east river crawler - still same as Saturday(arms all on and painted) v2 - broke down today for a good 4 hours. reason unknown ignight - back drop looks done and the stage where gazebo was is being painted and almost finished
