I was thinking Viper would be cool backwards also. I am just not sure how some of the turns would feel going backwards. :?

I really hope Six Flags doesn't just start making every ride backwards.

I'm fine with it as long as they do the rotating limited time approach. I wouldn't want a long term change like Mr Freeze or Superman at SFMM.

Someone posted a Sky Trek Tower POV from one of the private events. In it, you can see igNight and Crawler. Also, you can see Viper's second train is on the storage track, so Viper at least should have 2 trains Opening Day. Also, they had a crane by Orbit, so there's a good chance Orbit will be ready, as they just needed to put the cabins on.

How many trains is the Dark Knight running?

^Triple Play was working with that video towards the end. Someone said that it might be closed with Ignight construction, so I'm glad it must be open.

It's too hard to find out stuff about TDK . I'd assume somewhere from 5-8 cars. Definitely no more than 8.

So it sounds like quite a few of you guys are going on Saturday despite the one train operation on some coasters. Ill be going also, so does anybody want to meet up somewhere? Have a little group gathering? Keep each other company while we wait 4 hours for namtaB?

The whole thing is, is that the park hasn't been open to the public for 6 months, so a lot of enthusiasts are going to want to go even if ONE coaster was open. The thing with me is that I ride a bunch of flats too, so if the coasters that have one train are 1 1/2 hrs, I will be riding a bunch of other rides I miss like Triple Play, Condor, hopefully Orbit will be open, Sky Trek Tower, Ricochet, Chubasco possibly, Whirligig, etc.

Went to the park today to pick up my season pass coupon book and wanted to give you all a small update. The park was open today for a private event much to my surprise. I can't ever recall them having a private event the day before opening. It's not listed on the website. The lady at guests relations said it was physics day. There had to be at least be 40 buses at the park!

My observations:
1) New security checkpoint was fully up and running. Seem to work well handeling the crowds.
2) V2 was Open! :D
3) Viper was still running one train including X-Flight. (Whizzer wasn't running when I was there.)

Sorry, no pictures.

Well that's surprising. I wonder what is taking Viper's second train so long, since it has been on the storage track for nearly a week now.

^^^How about Batman the Ride (open or not)? Whizzer not being open is probably because of all the rain on the radar.

Batman was not running while I was there. Which I wasn't surprised about. Hopefully they have both trains ready for tomorrow. (Not getting my hopes up though.)

^^ If namtaB wasn't running at all, there is absolutely no chance of 2 train op this weekend, and that is a fact.

So if we head to Great America today, 5/3/13, we can get our season pass taken care of today instead of waiting hours in line tomorrow?

The website only says they're open for coupon books. I see no reason why they couldn't process a pass, but for a definite answer, I would recommend calling the park. (847) 249-1776. If they were able to process, you'd have to get up there by 4:00.

Thanks for the info. If I don't think I could make it there before four. I'll be in that hellish line tomorrow unless they have a better system now. Ha. Cheers!

When will all the rides with only one train in operation have two or more? It looks like there is NO WAY that all the rides with one train in operation will have two by tomorrow or Sunday.

Usually I don't like assuming but... I highly doubt that Batman will be open tomorrow. By looks of it seats are not even on. Unless they filmed this last week or something I don't see it happening. Hopefully I'm wrong though! Well see tomorrow!
