I am going to Six Flags Great America tomarrow(8/22/12) and if X-Flight has been closed since Monday(8/20/12) then I have NO doubt in my mind that X-Flight WILL NOT OPEN TOMARROW!!!!!!!!!! :( :( :( :( I am EXTREAMLY MAD/SAD that X-Flight will most likley NOT OPERATE tomarrow when I am there!!!!!!!!!! X-Flight is by far the BEST ride @ the whole park!!!!!!!!!! I have already been on it like 18times and I have NEVER gotten board of it!!!!!!!!!! I WISH i could NOT go tomarrow when the ride is/will be closed and go when its open/operating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3-stop with all the extra "!!!!" kind of gets annoying and i highly doubt itll be open

Quite a few people on this site, could use spell check to their advantage. Even more people, could use a class on proper grammar and/or correct punctuation, but back to the topic...please.

yes back to topic.. once its is back up and going let us know asap.. i'm going in 17 days!! never rode it yet so I would be sad if they were to close it or something for the rest of the season.. hope it isn't something really major that will take forever to fix. i would hope they would have it back up and running as fast as they can.

Am sure it wont be down for the whole year and this is most likely their first priority to get X-flight fixed

On Sat. the 1st, all the effects were working. The mist was at full blast and as you exited the ride you had to walk through some mist because it was so intense. They had the ambient music playing outside the queue and the annoying military grunter yelling that same thing over and over. Also, the speakers on the lift hill were still functioning too. But one train did have the right side, 2nd row blocked off.

So yes, the effects are still working and the ride is still smoooooth.

X Flight will have seats tied off frequently. This is a design flaw with the seats on B&M Wing Coasters. The frame for the seats doesn't go out far enough into the padding, which causes the corners of the padding to eventually break off from so many people getting in and out of the seats. When this happens, that row is closed for the rest of the day, and then after closing, Maintenance applies a melted rubber fix to cover the exposed metal.

Hopefully there will be a more permanent solution to this issue over the winter.

Thanks for the info, and hopefully there is a solution for this! We don't need a Furius Baco incident happening at SFGAm! I mean, that was Intamin, but still...

I didn't see any seats closed on labor day but there was a marathon going from 1pm to 7pm with 8 people in back two rows 7 & 8 both sides and a guy taking video of them, anyone know what this was for?

I went yesterday and was able to ride Xflight twice.. it was very busy which was weird the last 2 years i've went the same weekend and it was never this busy. . I rode on the left and right side and I have to say I like the left side better. . the camera wasn't working on the left so that gave us an excuse to ride it again so we could buy a photo lol.. lines were probably at least a 45 min to an hour wait for most rides.. Batman was the fastest moving line for rides that we went on and they had all the inside que lines open when we went.. was at like 730pm. Raging bull was the slowest but one train i think had issues so it put the line at a stand still for maybe 15 or so mins and then they let it go empty and then once they had all 3 trains going the line moved way faster.

As far as Xflight I loved it!!! was a total rush the first time.. right side i didn't like as much but it was still fun.. only complaints the restraints killed my colar bones by the end because of how tight they go and the seat hurt my lower back because the seat angle and how low they sank.. but it will not stop me from riding it again!!! its my 2nd favorite coaster in the park.. Raging bull being #1, Superman #3, batman #4. We got to ride Batman and Superman in the dark before closing which was awesome as well and rode Xflight the last time as the sun was setting.

I will for sure ride left side from now on . . i rode in the 3rd row both times as I had 2 friends that were larger and had to be in the 4th row so we wanted to be close to them so we could all be in the same photo.

It was an awesome addition to the park in my opinion . . :-)

Someone puked on the yellow train. I know, I had to ride that train immediately after in the the row behind, hoping there was no left over puke remanants :?

Me too! Those restraints just dig right into my collar bone. Hopefully they loosen up over time, the superman restraints aren't that tight and it is the same design.

the superman ones don't get tighter after the train starts like Xflight I noticed.. the first time i rode xfight it was really loose but as soon as the train started it tighted up alot!! Of fun about Raging Bull that sucks.. people need to take a motion sickness pill like I do and I don't even get sick on rides I just take it to be safe LOL.

It was for a contest that Wlup FM (The loop) was having.
Candy: What you lookin' at?
Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama.
Candy: Yeah, you see something you like?
Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.

That it because the loop was set up in southwest territory by the train playing there radio channel and doing something else, I didn't check it out though.

has the details on the X-Flight marathon info. I would have entered it just for the marathon, but as I couldn't care less about Motley Crew, I passed.

Six Flags recently repainted the X-Flight Research and Developments sign a bright red making it more visible on the storage track building. There are also about 3 footers left from Splashwater Falls that I counted.
