So remember the big Six Flags 2012 announcement video last year? Today they were filming the 2013 version in front of the broken X Flight. Unfortunately I was unable to hear or see any of the 2013 information.
^That's awesome that it will be at Great America this year! I feel a sense of pride and I don't know why. And it's nice to hear that I'm not the only one completely stumped by all of the teasers.

On that topic, anyone know why X Flight was down? My sister was at the park and claims it was down all day. (Not because of weather)
It's all a big conspiracy. They are purposely making these things visible (video images) to make hype. Dejavu, why couldn't you snap any more pics? Did Anderson get in the way of the screen or something?
^ There was nothing else to photograph. They looked to still be setting up, so I got my lunch, and when I sat down behind the teleprompter, it was on the concluding paragraph which had no info.
He didn't miss anything, most of the video was filmed already at other parks. It looks like just the intro and conclusion were being filmed at Great America. Which is where Jim works out of.
I was in line for X-Flight when it broke down. It was going up the lift like normal and the intense music started playing up the lift but then the music just stopped. The train kept going but came to a sudden stop half way up a second later. We waited about 5 minutes then they sent the train with the riders on it up the lift again and through the ride. Once they came back to the station and emptied the passengers, they sent out about 3 empty trains then warned the people in line it will be down for some time so a lot of us left.
Unless the ride broke down on the lift again with people on it a few hours after, no one was evacuated from the ride. The train with people on it that was stuck on the lift started up again after a slight delay. They kept the people on it but then they closed the ride down after they returned to the station.

I was at the park last week on Tuesday and while I was getting of the ride, I heard an unusual clanking sound while the red train was heading up the lift. I immideatly knew that there was some sort of issue because we all know what a normal lift sound on Xflight sounds like. I stood around for a bit to see what developed. They sent a couple trains empty. The black train ran fine going up the lift but the red train still made an unusual clanking noise. So maintence came out and put the red train in storage for about two hours and worked on it. After that, it ran fine the rest of the day. Overall, it sounds like it was just a flaw with the red train. I just thought it was worth mentioning since Xflight seems to have had alot of lift hill issues latley.
^ That particular issue sounds like one of the cars on the train lost an anti-rollback pad, which is a rubber pad that goes on the anti-rollback dog to reduce noise.
If you download and zoom in on the facebook pic you can see that the poster is for vampire diaries, the mouse pad says Six Flags Great America, the Poster in the folder has writing on the top margin(unreadable), and the green envelope says MARCOM Awards, the name of the project is on August 30th on the calender but it seems more blurred than the rest of the words so I believe they deliberately blurred it out.

The ride did get stuck again. It was around 12 or so when I saw the train being evacuated. The train sat empty on the lift hill until about 5:30 when they got it moving, only for it to stop at the top again for about 5 minutes. So for the whole day it got maybe two hours of running time.
I left the line after the first time it got stuck around 11:30. That means it got stuck on the lift twice with people on it within a half hour or so which is never a good thing. Hopefully whatever the issue is they get it fixed because the last three times I've gone to the park (yesterday and twice last month) it has been down at least once... two of those time involved being stuck on the lift.
Also, around 11:30 ( right before my friend and I left the X-Flight line) did anyone happen to see this weird helicopter thing floating above the park and towards I-94? It looked like some alien craft from a sci-fi movie but I have no idea what it was.
As far as the clues go for 2013, I have absolutely no idea but hopefully they post a new clue soon.

On another note, it would be great if we could stop discussing X Flight in the 2013 topic. There is a reason I made the original X Flight downtime post in the X Flight topic, because X Flight discussion belongs in the X Flight topic.
I never saw that sign there but that makes sense. The majority of the time it was flying close to the highway so I guess it was getting side shots of the park.
Giving my thoughts on 2013, I wouldn't mind seeing a Sky Screamer. Good views of the park with more fun than taking the STT and less fearful than getting a view for a couple seconds and free falling on GD.
at the zoning meeting for SFNE to build theirs, they said they'd get one and SF bought one other one for another property which they wouldn't say for propritary reasons. No one know where the other Star Flyer is going, SFOG has pretty strict height restrictions, if they got one it'd probably be one of the really small 150 footers like SFDK.

^To me it screams "Sky Screamer" because it is up over the trees. I bet that the other one is coming to them. We may get one in 2014 if it isn't coming this year.
