Media Day, the front of one train had the cover removed along with a seat on the right side of the train along with a bunch of platforms bolted on for camera mounts. Other train was complete.

I'm sort of surprised that Superman is still there (it's twice on the banner - picture + in black) even though a lot of enthusiasts diss Superman. I think more enthusiasts like Batman more than Superman, but more GP like Superman more than Batman. Batman, though the line is also faster than Superman. Trains leave about a minute something while Superman at that point is still in it's cycle around the track.

I wonder if that has anything to do with the physical length of the Superman queue. The rates per hour are obviously slower on Superman, but I'm wondering if more people get in line for Superman simply because you cannot see how many people are in line, until you are in line.

SFGAm does a Twitter Scavenger Hunt, and on Saturday, I won a pretty cool prize.

I'm sorry if you don't know who's signature that is...

*Bolliger :P
I always used to say "Bollinger & Mallibard" in my head, but it's "Bolliger & Mabillard"

Lot opens I believe an hour before open (so 0900) and usually they'll let people in right away, but stage them right next to the carousel until they open the chains at 1000. Then its a mad dash.

The two times we've gone this season, they already had X-Flight open and running before 10. No chains at the train overpass by the Pictorium.

They're anticipating the "mad dash" and killing it directly.

Question:
How do the rides operate on days like today when there's LOTS of rain all day, but there's NO downpour and NO lightning?

All of them. X-Flight is NOT an intense ride. Demon, Viper, the mouse coasters... heck, even Whizzer (which I LOVE) gets more *movement* action than X-Flight. It's alotta bark - not much bite.

I would say go for the classic MIDDLE seat, row 4 or 5, and give your sister the inside seat. Psychologically, that usually works. Then they end up *loving* the ride...

There are times when they close the park because it's been raining most of the day. I have had it happen twice that the park was closed at around 1 pm maybe. It was just constant, rain, rain all day. And even it stops raining at 3 pm, they still closed it. They know how many people are coming in the park, and if they aren't getting enough people (at the beginning of the day) because people are scared of the rain, they will just shut it down.

Also, in regards to rain, they shut coasters down even if it's light rain after so many hours of rain. Stuff gets too slippery. They will open them after it stops though.

I don't think he was asking who that is, but more pointing out that one may need to read a little more about this topic if they don't know who's signature that is.

@JerryKoala Awesome that you got that.

Disregard that... I noted this because some of us had bets on how long it would last, but it's back on now. Meh.

You do know that this is a 54" ride correct? That's more than most 6 year olds are. The farther you go towards the front, the less intense the ride is. The inside seat is also less frightening for young ones. 6 years old is awfully young though, and there is a good chance she will get scared in the station. Don't ruin her bud. I've heard stories of parents letting too young of kids on coasters and they get the daylights scared out of them, and never ride again. Be careful and patient. I just took a 9 and 13 year old girls on last weekend and they were terrified, but loved it afterwards.

I rode front left and right today. I've got to say, wasn't expecting much but now it's my favorite seat on the ride.

The front gives you a vastly different ride for sure. It stalls, then almost feels like a turbo boost ripping through the inversion.

Still like the back best personally, but front is awesome.

^Not to mention you hang upside down for a good 2 - 3 seconds on that first drop. Front right is currently my favorite spot, but I would still like to try some other spots. I have only ridden on the left once.

If you want hangtime, must do front row.

Haha I meant to post this kept forgetting. I noticed it off May 21st as well, not sure if its one of those things that they randomly turn off or maybe even if it's solar powered (when I went this past Thursday it rained the whole time). Actually come to think of it, the misters were even off this past Thursday (may have also had something to do with the rain).
