I have yet to find anyone who *hates* Whizzer. Bored on it? Yes... (I know what you are saying though, just making small talk.)
Nah, as much as I'd give you crap about Whizzer just to bust your chops, it is a fun ride, I enjoy it with my son in a palate cleanser sorta way, and at night the ride is just awesome.
It's definitively a nightime ride, and Fright fest it's killer with the lights and fog etc.
^If you look in the video of X-Flight test run, you will see towards the end of the video that there is going to be a lot of back and forths. I would say it's similar to V2s back and forths.

This is Hank Salemi, Park President of Six Flags Great America. There is still a good bit of work left to do on X Flight before we open it but I rode it for the first time yesterday and I was blown away. It is an incredible coaster. I don’t want to give away any of its secrets, you will have to ride it to uncover those, but let’s just say it's smoother than Bull and better than Batman!
It doesn't surprise me that he says that it's better than Batman because he's promoting his new ride, and their whole thing is that it's a B&M just like Raging Bull, Superman, and Batman. Also, the guy is older (I'm not saying he's a senior, but he's got to be 40s or 50s) to be a president, and Batman is a more intense ride, so what do you expect from an older guy that is the president of SFGAm. The guy isn't an enthusiast. Theoretically, the younger you are, the more you can take.

Some people love Whizzer, and some hate it, just like Raging Bull, or anyone's favorite coaster.
It's all opinions man...
Yeah, it is, and thinking about it- it probably will be the preference of more than just a few people. I've noticed Superman is as well (beyond all logic and reason). Despite all the mundane reviews rolling in from overseas or from Dollywood, a common theme is that they're going to be huge crowd pleasers despite being mediocre. My comments regarding the new ride might carry a trace of negativity- but I chalk that up to losing 3 of the better coasters in 10 years. I still appreciate the fact that it wasn't the Eurofighter or Zacspin I thought we were doomed to get.
There was a kid (probably a Cedar Point fanboy) who was getting off Voyage when it opened in 2006, swearing to his riding partner "Mean Streak is sooo much better than that!"
Same with this guy riding behind us on Cyclops last year. He couldn't stop talking about Hades, how it was so much bigger than *this* and how it's the best. So when the train got to THE drop, I said "put your hands up" - he didn't. As the ride came to a finish, I said "you still think Hades beats this?" - "heck yeah!" he said. Strange...
I've heard people from the NY/NJ area at other parks like Six Flags Over Georgia bragging about how awesome Kingda Ka is, etc.
And the Cedar Point folks, we all know how they are...

To each his own. I personally like Hades more than Cyclops too.
how do you guys think crouds for x flight on may 12th for the regular season pass holders i want to get there early and hopefully ride a couple times to experience it from a couple different spots on the train.
^ I have a similar question. I am going on the 13th and am wondering if you guys think there will be less of a crowd that day or more. My hope is that rain is in the forecast, since I am will not be able to get to the park until about 11:30 or 12:00. How long do you guys think the lines for pass processing and X-Flight will be? I only plan to ride once on the right side.

Sunday mornings are pretty dead, though the X-Flight opening will bring people out, I'm sure. Get there as early as you can. By 12, the line might be pretty long, but better than if the GP could also ride, mfor sure. The pass processing lines get bad bybthe afternoon, but it moves pretty fast.

I would say at least 1 hr 20 min. You are talking about the first day of operation, and you know almost every season pass holder at the park is gunning for that ride. If it was for everyone, I would say 2 hours. Plus, on top of that this ride probably operates as slow as Superman does, plus it's the first day of operation for it, so the crews might not be that fast because they have to get used to it. Even people that let's say worked Superman last year (people that are experienced - not their first year) might have a harder time with this ride because of the exiting of people differently than other coasters.

If the pass processing line is anything like opening day last year (And I'm pretty sure it will be) then expect a pretty good wait if you come any later than 10.
It seams that many people feel that the line for processing is long, but are you guys referring to the line to put in your information and get the pass or the line to just go up and take your picture? I have already bought my pass online.

well no matter if you bought yours online or have to fill out stuff there you still will be waiting in the long line...last year i waited 2hrs to get my pass processed and had bought them online...i personally think that they should have two lines like that were if you do get your pass online just go in a different line get your pic and leave but they sure didnt figure that out yet....
I lucked out. Got my pass in October and had it processed. Used it at Magic Mountain in December and will be riding X-Flight while my friends are in line for pass processing.

We bought ours during FF last year. If you're local, people, get there next weekend, when X-Flight isn't yet open, even if you don't plan to stay, to get the processing out of the way. No brainer probably, but it will be a lot shorter a line than on the 12th and 13th.

We're planning a trip for opening day or the 6th for the sole purpose of processing our passes (which we're *mostly* getting for the purpose of using on the 12th/13th!). I'll be down there 3 times this May!
The watch tower is now complete. They just added the pic to twitter.
Don't fight the Bull, ride the Bull!
Best 2011 Moment: "I lost my phone on Raging Bull!" "WELL I LOST A SOCK!!!" Best 2012 Moment: "No good! DREAM ON!" Best 2013 Moment: "I came here for Auntie Anne's pretzels and coasters......in that order!"

Looks better than I thought it would. To bad that they couldn't have made it an observation tower (but the issues of people dropping things off would be one of many issues since it is over the track).
