X-Flight new for 2012

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Also, think about this. You want the roof to be corrugated metal so we all bake in an oven in summertime, or canvas?

;)

And just as always, major new ride about to start testing and the webcam goes down. GRRRRRRRRRR

EDIT: Webcam is back up, no movement yet.

Personally, I don't think they'll keep the webcam live for testing...and I also wouldn't be surprised if the first round of testings happen in the dark/dusk so it's harder to see.

^ We have no way of knowing when testing will begin. All we know is that it looks like it could start testing at any moment.

wouldn't they wait until everything is finished and stuff before they do the actual testing? just wondering cause the other towers and things are they built yet? the ones the ride goes through when its up and running?

haven't seen any pics posted of those up yet. . anyone know if they are going to still be there like in the animation video?

Taken by Duane Marden. In the lower left hand corner you can see the former Skeeball. Is it possibly Leather Xcessories which was talked about at No Coaster Con?

Wow, good point! But my question still stands... anyone can answer it. When do you think they will put the red decorations, if thats what they're called, on the tops of the trains to cover up the gray cross beams?

Testing has started! :)

EDIT: and by that I mean simple back ups to the transfer. They may do full testing today too.

Update: SFGAm's Twitter has hit 900 followers so expect station pictures up today.

i really hope that they get video of the first test run.. I'm sure that they will. I think the public would love to see the ride run for the first time.. do you think they would tape it from the queue? or the midway?

Welcome! I expect it to be somewhat crowded especially with it being open to the public for the first time that day but I've never really been to the park in mid May before. I usually go when it first opens and late May.
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)

Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades

I wonder if they took a video if X-Flight's™ first testing. If they did it should be on youtube tomorrow. Also when do you think the watch tower and hangar will be finished?

If you go on May 12th it's for season pass holders only,so if you have a season pass you should go then because the lines will be shorter without the GP.

That would be really hard, since it hasn't actually tested yet.

According to this article from today's LA Times, the hangar will be located on the first drop and not where it is in the video animation. Only 1 month to go.....
