I imagine the Keyhole element being right next to (east side) of the entry to the Immelman. You can see the footers in-line to hold the track, it just isn't there yet...
My question, is how big will the hangar portion be - basically the shed-looking element as your entry to the immelman... Good and exciting things coming our way! : )
Can't say how impressed I am with the speedy construction of this puppy! Mother Nature deserves a pat on the back - who knows, this ride might be open on Opening Day if the weather holds!

According to Screamscape (which we all know is rather sketchy at times) the ride will be open on openeing day. Screamscape sited this from a local news report, which is in a link in the screamscape article, but I havent actually viewed it myself.......
look how close the track is to the trench. and the angle on the track! I'm so excited! I have a feeling that the station building is gonna be a bit weak as in theming, but i don't really care. My favorite station there is probably SUF or Bull..
If someone catches a brand new page, they might post this URL http://166.241.21.24/-wvhttp-01-/getoneshot so that you can see the webcam's latest image at the top of the thread.
mrsix, for the future, if there's no image posted at the top of the thread, just bookmark this URL: http://166.241.21.24/-wvhttp-01-/getoneshot. It's bookmarked on my phone and I check it multiple times during the schoolday.

I know its been slightly discussed, but I COULD see a small trim goin in on the bit of straightaway before the last inversion. I hope not & dont truly see a reason in having one, but B&M may think otherwise.

Why? There isn't any part of the track after that straightaway where the train's stress will be different due to the trains speed (except the 270 after, but I doubt that will cause stress). That wouldn't make any sense for them to put trims there.
Sporlo - the SunTimes article you felt necessary to quote, and draw attention to - doesn't say anything official about the ride opening on Opening Day. It's an assumption, by all, at this point in time... Hence my question.
Unless Six Flags comes out and says the ride will open earlier than anticipated - the official date is still up in the air.

I reread the relevant section of the article, and I now see that I assumed too much. I made an unwarranted inference that the statement about the date must have come directly from Pohlman or other workers. It's clear that the author simply chose that wording to indicate that the general intention is to have it open sooner rather than later.
I just rewatched the animations of the ride and noticed an contradiction. In the ride map the hanger element is right before the Immelman, but in all the animations the hanger is before the 270 degree turn into the keyhole. I wonder which way it will be built.

Not entirely true. I was fortunate enough to ride V2 on a soft opening. They had the ride up and running one week before the scheduled opening day.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

You are going to be able to see the final helix track put into place with the current view. It's going just to the left of the first drop. After that the only thing left is the brake run.
I am looking forward to seeing how big the crowds are going to be X Flights first year. I remember when SUF opened that first summer the line was past Rue Le Dodge everyday and that was using all those queues that they had kept from Shockwave. On weekends the line would be back into Carousel Plaza.
It doesn't look like they are going to have nearly as much space for queueing as they did for SUF or Raging Bull, so i'm wondering if they are going to have to do some tinkering with X Flight's line like they did with Batman where it just goes all over the place. I remember when they had to use that East River Crawler queue house for Batman almost every day back in the 90s.

I apologize.
Dont beat yourself up, this isnt a press apology! haha Its all good, no ones going to attack you for a small assumption over a date...its a day. ;D Now, I do believe theres no doubt shell be running opening day! From here on out after track work its electrical/plumbing/station Which with nearly a full 3mo to go, I think itll be ready
Am I just biased here or does she not have the best layout of the 4 wingriders?!
no your not bias i have to agree with you on the layout... with a close second going to dollywoods....(dollywood should of added a heartline role at the end) instead ot he figure 8 imho.... they had the room to probably do both...
Swarms drop is nice but i do not like the wanna be loop they put in it. Raptor was the prototype no go big on it at all....
I do belive we got the best wing rider out of the deal and hopefully it was worth the 9 year wait for a new big roller coaster.
This may be a tad bit selfish but i wonder what they have in mind for the old iron wolf area... seems to me there is alot of room for something to go in there as well .... maybe a copy of DDD from georgia? but please no zac spins. ques would suck for zacspin
^I honestly hope we get a thrilling flat ride next year but not in Wolf's spot. Anyways, I also agree that we have the best layout. Obviously Dollywood has incredible scenery and terrain but X-Flight appears to be much more thrilling and unique.
