Wild Mouse may equal the demise of Whizzer?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Chitown on January 27th, 2004, 8:22 pm
So since you find it boring, it should be takin down?

I guess it doesn't matter to you that families with small children have a blast on this coaster.

I guess it doesn't matter that families are the group that spends the most money inside the park which results in shiny new thrill coasters.

Nope, none of that matters.

Im not saying the famlies dont matter im just saying shockwave was my first coaster and i didnt even have a chance to save it like people did with the whizzer. Famlies may be the bigest people that go there they got lots of flats they can do. But if all they do is build little family rides the park will go way down in atendance. They need to make sure what they add or take out will benifite both sides and they will all like the decision. So they should do a servy at they park you can vote as much as you whant for a new ride or something along the lines of that. See my point now??

PS im sorry i probally spelled alot of words wrong but im in a hurry because im at school well gtg bye

I'm pretty sure you couldn't have saved ShockWave, considering people did not save Whizzer (well kinda, but not exactly).
Oh, by the way, THEY JUST GOT A FREAKIN B&M FLYER LAST YEAR in case you forgot.

hey, Whizzer isn't the only 'first-step' family ride in the park, Spacely's Sprocket Rockets coaster would be first step before the Wild Mouse too.

So by all means, if they decide to tear Whizzer down, the park will still have SSR as their family 'first-step' coaster. They can put like a Delierum type ride in Whizzer's spot or something else........ :?

This is to Chitown, Papas, and rctfan1556, look maybe it was because it was in august of 2000, I don't know. But when I get on a ride, i'm not trying to play dodgeball. It was fun at first, but then the trees came into factor. Anyway I am always "real" with what I have to say, so that was a "real" reason why I don't like the ride. I totally agree with Whiteygabe1998, they didn't give us a chance to "save" the Shockwave. And as far as the families, is there not Spacely's Sprocket Rockets, Looney Toons Land ect. I think that is enough. Chitown you said that they pay the most the most when really child admission is cheaper... But whatever It's your opinion, I respect it, so respect mine.

Yes, this is true, but how many parents/adults can ride those rides in the Cartoon Network/Looney Tunes area?

I remember taking my younger cousin in there a few years ago, and the ops were telling me I was too tall to ride those rides. The only rides I was able to do: SSR and the Mystery Machine, kiddie train, and the Looney Tunes Lodge Factory/Playground. Of course many children (like me at one time and my cousin) fear the fact that their parents won't be with them during the few minutes or so duration of the ride. Some children have no problem.

As somebody said before, it is the families that are giving the park the most money to buy new attractions, not us.

If we respect your opion you should respect mine ahh lets see no i did not forgot about SUF kinda hard when my season pass had superman or somthing like that on it. Lets see there are more little kids rides that roller coasters. Lets see the new flats were getting seem to be so called step up blocks for the little toddler. I bet i will only ride like 3 of the new rides if that because there for little kids. BTW im glad to see a 7 year old go on ragin bull i wish more would so the park would not spend money on stuff like looney toon land when most (Not all) can ride on roller coaster. Im not saying that a little kid should lie to get on a ride but i have seen like 6 year olds on roller coaster.

Read my post again. I said "inside spending". That means after the families enter the gates.

Spacely's is a kiddie coaster. Whizzer is a family coaster. Basically, small children can enjoy a somewhat fast paced, thrilling coaster. Spacely's does not offer that.

We have 9 thrilling coasters in the park. If that isn't enough for you, move near a park that offers more. Its that simple.

No Chitown you are right. The littler kids do give the park more money. Because they want every little thing in every store and every candy food item they can get there hands on. So really our admissions make a difference but the lil kids really bring in the $$.

Exactly, I don't know about you but last time I check most little kods don't have any money, and the parents are not going to buy every littlte thing.Think about it, a family might go one or two times a season, but a real thrill seeker go's multiple times. So who's bringin in the most cash? If you look back at my first post on this topic I said " I dout it"... But if it's that simple to you, you move. Find a place by Santas Village if you want family time. People know what to expect when they come to Six Flags, it has some family areas, and I dout if any kids a complaining. I never said that I wanted more I just stated my feeling about the removal of the Whizzer (Chitown). That Loony tunes area is very big, it hast a lot of things to do, I know because I used to play there. Be logical, did you really think I was serious when I said "... I tried"? But if that's how you fell "...move near a park that offers more. It's that simple." :D

highroller and whiteygabe.

You can continue on thinking you are the big money spenders in the park.

You have season passes, you probably have a parking pass (or mommy drops you off at the park). That alone is money that SF isn't getting.

You expect me to believe you drop $100 in cash everytime you visit the park? Did mommy hand you that cash everytime?

Families with kids are the ones who spend the money inside the park. Thats just the way it is.

SFGAm is meant to appeal to everyone. Not just thrillseekers. The 2 kids areas are not enough for parents to enjoy with their children. Family rides scattered throughout the park are the key to success to keep them coming back.

Nice way to put it Highroller

Lets see i got about 2-3 times a year and yes chitown my mommy takes me in the park i pay the 10 dollors and guess what she rides the coasters 2. So me spending a hunder dollors there is was no big deal since it was 2-3 times each year now i cant spend that much because i play paint ball i i got a 220 dollor gun plus nitro and i cant spend all my momey at sfgam because im not going to have my gun sit there. I think you should move your famliy right by santas village. Like you said its all about the little brats woops i mean kids.Chitown dose your mommy wommy drop you off at the big old scary park all alone?

I kinda agree.. I'm 24 and me and my fiance do not have any kids but we EASILY spend $100 each time we go too. When we took my nephew to Fright Fest we had to have spent at least $150 so I can't even imagine how much families spend just 1 day at the park! I just love to shop that's my problem!

Just what till you have kids. As a father of two kids when you walk through the gates its can we get something to drink, can we play some games and at $3.00 a game its easy to let each kid spend $20.00. Then since they didn't win a prize now you have to buy them one. Also most parents eat at the park they don't pack their lunches and go back to the car, not once but two meals a day. Now lets talk about the popcorn - dippin dots - slushies - and the ice cream cones from the Firehouse as we watch the parade. So don't tell us that kids don't have money cause they have parents that do who want to have fun at the park with their kids. No if they took out the Whizzer you would see a drop off in familys coming to the park cause you would have to jump from Spacely's to the Demon and that can be a scary jump for small kids. As to taking them to Santa's Village when familys go to SFGAM they will usually come two days in a row to also enjoy the shows and SV does not offer that much. Think about everything before you speak!
Waiting to fill this space with something stupid to say!

Well, I spent 70 odd dollars on my season pass, 15 for parking, 10 on food on the first day, 2 on pop sometime in july, 6 on a funnel cake on the last day. Out of 10-15 visits, I spend a little over 100 dollars. Six Flags dosen't like that.
They want families of 5 to spend 200 on admissions and 100 on food and murchandise every trip. If they can bring that kind of money back, It pays off for 5 of me. :D
