I know I'm probably repeating myself from before, but the track and supports don't take as much time to put up as that groundwork with the footers, moving dirt, and things like that. Time and time again with any of these construction projects, people think that they are doing nothing when they working on the groundwork, but they really are doing things, and than boom up come the supports, and finally the track. Don't expect the supports to take that long, and don't expect the track either. I really wonder how far in the ground those footers actually go. Someone once said that on the Windseekers though the base of the tower goes really, really, really far into the ground, and I just never thought of that before, so these footers must be going far in the ground too - maybe a guess of 30 feet? Does someone know?

Even if they finish the whole coaster in February, they still have to do other things to get it open like building the station (I don't even know if they built it yet. I don't think so), building the paths, taking the train fully through the layout using a crane I think, and than if nothing is wrong, than they have to test it a TON. Right now, I see it easily opening by opening day, but it depends on if something is wrong. If something is wrong with how they put one footer, or a couple footers, than they have to demolish the footer /s, and make new footers.

The footers range in depth from 30ft to 77ft. Nothing has been done for the station yet except the footers.

B&M coasters do not do a full pull-through with the train. They will use a frame mock-up to clearance test the close areas as seen here on SeaWorld's Manta:

For testing, existing coasters only need each train to be cycled 50 times before opening each season. Obviously, X-Flight will need some extra testing to adjust the programming and brake settings, etc.

I'm confused. Did you mean to say you can't see the photos? Or are you stating the obvious :?

Who takes those photos for the park? Do they have an official photographer? Just wondering.

I would assume they are taken by someone in the marketing dept - covering any 'new' chapters with the ride being built. Prob the same person that updates the Facebook page, etc...
I haven't seen any pictures that a normal, non-photographer couldn't have taken with an iPhone : )

Those small footers must be for the station. The support nearest the camera is a support for the immelmann.

I'm hoping the rocks are a sign that the trench will be used for a water feature. Wishful thinking, but something like Mavericks water explosions could be a really cool feature for a wing rider.

^^^Sadly, I see no indication of the hangar, the Keyhole, however, it's hard to tell because I have no point of reference.

If you look in the most recent image of the webcam, you will notice the top of a triangular support at the bottom of the image, just a little bit up the page you will see a small, stubby support. Right between that support and the bottom of the page, is where you should see the hangar. So with the current view, once its built we should be able to look right through it. Because the track has to go through it, the building itself wont go up until after the track is placed. It will most likely be lightweight construction, and due to the amount of machinery that has to be in that area during vertical construction, I wouldnt even expect to see footers for the hangar until after vertical construction is finished. at least in that area anyways.

And they probably aren't something that would need huge footers and could be put up when they're pouring cement for the queue. Seeing as they included them in the concept art and heavily featured the "near miss fly throughs" in the announcement video, I'm sure they'll follow through and put them up.

It seems as though all of B&M's latest creations have been lacking in the "speed" category.

I don't think speed is the intent with the Wing Coasters.....

If you're looking for a B&M with speed as a factor, you might need head north of the border :wink:

I don't think B&M wants to let Wing-Riders get too fast either. As they are still very, relatively, new rides, and they might become rough if B&M has design flaws. See again in 10 years when B&M is building wing-riders.

Example... Iron Wolf --> Chang
Superman --> Tatsu
Batman ---> Alpengeist

I'm sure in 5 years or whenever, we'll be seeing much more intense (speed wise) wing-riders.

I'm sure SFMM will have a giant wing rider in the future even though they have X. (Sarcasm)

I always thought the cantilever design and the more massive trains are the reason why all these new wing riders are slower, but then perhaps not because we have the 4Ds and Furius Baco in the 70s/80s. Perhaps B&M wants to take it easy because of the inversions involved. For example, on the 4Ds you can manipulate the loads a bit and the jitter experienced with the rotations.
Now though I'm not putting very much weight (lol pun) into this idea as the one stated in above posts.
