X-Flight new for 2012

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby ilrider on October 24th, 2011, 8:25 pm
So yesterday I overheard a teenager with his family asking as we walked past the site, "Is it X-Flight, or Flight X?" I told him the correct name, to which he got all riled up and said, "Then why is the flight in front of the X?!" (on the logo) I just walked away without bothering to explain why. I still wonder if they didn't believe me.

oh. my. god. The GP strikes again!

That made me lol. If I learned anything in Graphic Design, you read the BIGGER letter/Word first.

I assumed (wrongly) that most people understood that concept.

I can see how that can be confusing to a teenager who doesn't know that thought. But for him not respecting you and taking your word, that's another thing.

He didn't really show me any disrespect, in his defense, and he seemed to believe me, but I just thought it was pretty funny how riled up he got about the "Flight" being in front of the "X." He wasn't directing any anger at me at all, just incredibly frustrated/confused. I just wondered if I really convinced him after we walked away. Oh well. At least he knows where in the park the ride is going, unlike half the GP on the FB page!

Whats the big deal? Go stand out in front of Expedition Everest at DAK and people watch for 10 minutes. I guarentee you will see at least a one person pushing a stroller with a small child or baby in it try to enter only to be told "sorry, not tall enough to ride" and the person will say "this is a ride?"

The X-Flight track pieces can be easily seen from Condor. Just look behind the Dark Knight queue building.

^ I'd say atleast 15. All of the pieces for the brake run, transfer, storage track, and station are here and also the first drop.

Wow so a lot of track has appeared since the last pic i saw. Id say by the middle of November most of the track will be here and vertical will begin.

It was a good day at the park today. Rain and cold scared off a lot of people.

At the end of the day, most of the rides were walk-ons with the exception of Raging Bull.

Unfortunately from what I understand we are in store for a real doozy of a winter. But I'm with you on the Iron workers.

Dollywood released a POV of Wild Eagle today, and not being biased, I think that X-Flight looks to be much better.

heres the video---- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm8l57mQzOM

I'm sorry, I like theirs. Trees are better than a hangar and air traffic control tower.

So far Dollywood has made Great America look stupid

Dollywood is almost done with their Wing Rider and we're yet to go vertical...
