In reference to "Giant Drop of Doom" I don't believe there will be any theming at all, nor do I think the ride will actually be renamed in-park, I believe it's just to draw attention to the changes in the ride cycle during the event, which they did last year as well.
Captain, don't shake the passengers up too much this time! Just giving them their money's worth!
While it seems our park seems to do more with themed rides than any other, I wish they would do more for the coasters such as fog on BTR like Magic Mountain, or no lights on tracks like Magic Mountain. The fog in particular would look really cool for BTR I think due to its surroundings (I.E. trees and the water below part of it)
I wish they would add a little something to The Dark Knight. What I mean is like turn off (not remove) the existing effects and just add strobes, suspenseful music, and maybe a few "surprises" but it doesn't have to be much. I feel an indoor coaster like that would be a perfect place to have some scenery but I understand they really shouldn't remove anything and most of the stuff takes up room.
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)
Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades
^ Great Adventure has their's listed as a Fright Fest ride with the Orc chefs storyline. Maybe if they actually change the ride and it goes over well there we'd see ours re-themed for Fright Fest in 2012? I agree that it could work well, strobes and music like you said would be great, maybe something similar to TT2?
Also, a picture of Massacre Medical Center's facade was posted to the parks Facebook. It actually looks really awesome, a lot better than I expected it to be.

As of Right now, Warner Brothers is very involved with the Dark Knight Coasters, and must be involved in any changes, making things like this difficult. As time goes on though, and they begin to focus more on the Dark Knight Rises and other projects further down the pipeline, it may get easier.
As far as the "Orc Chef" Storyline...It means nothing. All the parks have that. Those storylines were just generic descriptions, we really are the only park that themes their rides, and this is a campaign to try to get the others parks to do something similar to what we do. There really is no other good explanation.

Ok so it sounds like so far that Necropolis will be the only free event as always unless something new and free has been added this year??
Also I'm a bit disappointed that the park isn't open on Halloween one last day. They probably figured kids would be in school and its the beginning of another work week so it maybe makes sense they close on sunday rather then spending extra costs for keeping the park open on a monday which attendance probably would of been low.
^ They did that in 2005 when Halloween was also on a Monday. Even with $15.00 admission, it was completely dead. They are not going to bring back something that failed so badly.

Necropolis is probably going to be free no matter what. The real reason for the freeness in my opinion is because they really want people to go in the haunted house. Sure, it's fun to see the decorations around there, but I personally think it's really about that Haunted House. Also, are they doing that sideshow there, or in Mardi Gras? Before, they used to do it there.
For Halloween, and the park not being not being open on Halloween, it's because the kids want to Trick or Treat, or go to a party, or do something else. Trick or treating for them is once a year whereas the park is open multiple days in October. Also, concerning the kids for a school day, they probably get out at 3 or 3:30 pm, and they probably don't want to pay that type of admission for a short time at Six Flags.

If the "Sideshow" you are talking about is Fantome, it's probably not exactly what you're thinking. As I mentioned earlier it will be more like Dead Man's Party...not the Freak show that used to be presented (which, even though I personally don't have the stomach for it, would love to see brought back next year, especially since Fright Fest is developing a new identity.

Honestly, I'm happy to see something new in it's place, it was my least favorite part of Fright Fest last year. I didn't get how the graves had anything to do with the sin they were representing, and I only saw one actor in it. As long as they keep the fire at the entrance, I'm fine with seeing the rest go.
OK I had a question that needs SFGAm expertise answers. Ok so my group has decided that we will go to Fright Fest Oct 22 which is a saturday. What is the likelihood that it will be crowded. Because this is the first time Ive been to the park in 3 months and this will be the last time I will go for the season I'm really really really hoping that the park WILL NOT be crowded. It would be an awesome way to end the season for me. It will also be the only time I go to Fright Fest this year. Most years I go twice. I know crowds are unpredictable but I'm assuming the information will be based on previous years. So yeah I need answers so if everyone who can give me a legit or accurate answer would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!
^It will most likely be crowded on a Sat later in the month during Fright Fest. The way I notice how Fright Fest works with crowds is that the earlier you go, the less crowded it is. The closer it gets Halloween, the more crowded it's going to be. Saturdays are the worst day for Fright Fest! And longer hours usually 9 times out of 10 equals more people. So, good luck. Though, there are ways during Fright Fest to enjoy yourself even if it is crowded. There are a lot of shows that are enjoyable in my opinion.
Though, if I had to choose between a Saturday and a Sunday during Fright Fest, I would never pick a Saturday over a Sunday.

If you want to get any rides in, be there at opening and do them right away, especially the ones with Fright Fest re themes. Definitely hit up Terror Twister in the morning. Crowds should be heavy, but not to the point that it'll be impossible to get a few rides done. Once it starts getting darker, crowds should pick up, the park will become packed, and everything will have lines ranging from bad to insane. If there's anyway you can move your trip earlier, do it.

Yeah last year was voodoo dolls and gypsies in the sevensins. I honestly thought it was kind of better then the disaster in 2009. But sevensins was the best from 2004-2008. I also thought of something they had werewolves and vampires by Iron Wolf last year they should put sevensins there or is that area already have something.
Seven sins to me was always kind of blah. I wish the park could have a horror monsters area (Freddy, Jason, Ghostface, Leprechaun, Myers, Chucky, etc.), but they just like to put them in the Haunted House. Have them with sets around the area.
