I thought the rails were red. I know this is a picture of Paramount's Great America's Demon, but they were both owned by the same company when Demon first came out, and looked exactly like eachother.
I'm so glad that DV is getting a new paintjob. It looked horrible when they put it up, now it's going to be restored to better than when it finally opened!
How much of a speed difference would painted rails make? It would only increase the diameter of the rail by millimeters, and if applied smoothly and evenly would be very uniform and smooth. I guess if it would have any effect on speed, it would be VERY small, but thats just a guess.
I have notics that many years ago the park was kepted up, this would have been around 1995-1997. Latly it seems like they dont keep the park up. It seems like Tim Black likes the park so far and wants to keep the park up and up dating the park and keep it clean and stay on top of every thing. I can't wait to see every thing looking new, I know at this point in time I can't wait to see the many years of changes. Six Flags Great America is one of the best family and thrill parks around. With the right people in charge this will continue to happen.
I doubt they'll even paint Iron Wolf again. I think it'll be the next coaster to come out for a new coaster, and personally, I wouldn't mind to see it go. I know that would be one B&M less that we'd have, but I don't even consider it a B&M, since it was their first coaster and they used a lot of parts (like the cars) that weren't even their own design.
You might not mind seeing it go, but I think we can all agree that it would be preferable to see new coasters added without removal of old rides FIRST. Besides, I enjoy Iron Wolf, if not how it looks (or how it bangs you around!)... the whole standing up thing is like nothing else out there!
Honestly, there are worse rides out there. I personaly love Iron Wolf and would hate to see it go, even if it was for a floor less or a 4D. I love the intensity it serves. No other ride in the park is as intence as it. Actually, I dont see why everyone hates it.... compare it to some other rides... like viper at great adventure... or even shockwaves brake run... come on guys it is not as horrible as everyone makes it sound I think you all would hate to see it go, and it would be missed much.
It's not that I want to see it go, because I don't. I'm just saying that of all the coasters, if one had to go, that'd be the one. I would want to see it go if a better coaster would take its place and there was no room for it anywhere else.
It's incredibly rough, well at least those restraints make it seem that way. I've seen people come off there with bloody ears. Time to bring back the old restraints.

Bloody ears ? I know it's a rough ride with some headbanging, but I never thought it was bleeding from the ears bad . The new restraints are bigger than the old ones, but I think they are not as hard. I never had a problem with Iron Wolf, in fact, it's my #3 fav. ride .
What I've learned on all standups is to keep your head back and if the track turns to the right put your head to the right side and you will not band your head as much.
Waiting to fill this space with something stupid to say!

Good point
^^People Iron Wolf is a crowd attractor, so it will stay as long as it attracts crowds. Personaily, I do not think they can take anything out without getting someone upset, because all of our coaster(If not rides) attract crowds.
Oddly sfgadv's batman is also gettin painted yellow. The supports ARE staying black! heres a pic
