Crazy Buffalo was my favorite place to eat. For 3 reasons:
1st, because all food is expensive at the park anyways, I might as well pay a bit more and eat all I want. 2nd, it was air conditioned. 3rd, It brought back child memories and I loved the atmosphere.
When I was a kid I ate there with my mom, and they had some guy walking around with a guitar singing country music songs.
Last season I heard they were shutting it down, and they emailed me this year and confirmed it is shut down.
The park has the same cheap food they serve everywhere, yeah there are some exceptions, but its becoming less true. My 2nd favorite place to eat is the Moose Lodge place, not sure if I have the name correct. Sitting inside is important to me, to get a respite from the heat. the food in there is okay, but not my 1st choice. Unfortunately it is forced to #1 now, and where I will probably eat this year.
My family has developed a system of eating at the park. We eat at the hotel if they offer a free breakfast, otherwise we do McDonalds if we are at a hotel with no free breakfast. We pack a lunch and go to the car for lunch. And then we eat dinner in the park. This saves us money, by having 1 meal in the park.
I like eating in the park if the food and place to eat is nice, but if they wreck it, I will eat my 2nd meal in the car too.
Anyone else like and miss the Crazy Buffalo? I can't tell you how upset I am about its loss.

I forgot to say I am told there is no other buffet in the park.
There was a buffet earlier this year not too long ago. I think it was actually during the 4th of july or something. I swear I thought Ive seen an ad for a buffet somwhere. Ah well.
Buddy I feel for you. I loved the crazy Buffet-Lo too. As you said is was more expnsive but the price for all you can eat was pretty much your best bet. And it was air-conditioned. They also had some pretty cool scenery in there and the dynamite plunger that made the lights strobe and flash. Yeah we do the same thing that you do eat lunch at our car but then we eat late at home. The choices are pretty much that same thing though no matter where you go. Also does anyone know if they still give you free ice-water? I heard this year that even if you want water you will have to pay for a refill in your souvenier glass?
oh ok. On a ramdom note imiss Trailblazer. That was one of the rides SFGAm took out that i really miss (Never hd the chance to ride on Vu or Shockwave)
It was awesome I loved the ride I think it gives bigger air than what River Rocker did. Over all i really liked it better than river rocker but the damn lap bar was a bit snug and really could have been bigger especially since young kids would go on with parents. It was good but seriously needed to accomodate people who weren't 4' 11 and 125
Are you two ^ & ^^ in the right topic? I agree that they should have more air-conditioned places to eat, but for Batman the Ride on a really hot day, they barely have the air-conditioning going (I felt ONE vent going, and that's right where to be on the right side or the left side of the tunnel), so I can see why they don't have this Crazy Buffalo anymore. Also, they probably weren't getting the business as they should have got because you guys or ladies have said it was expensive.
Back to air-conditioned places though, isn't that Italian place across from Batman the Ride air-conditioned, that Aunt Martha's near the Orbit air-conditioned, and than you have a room across from Rue Le Dodge / Condor air-conditioned along with the donut place. Than Mooseburger as you said should be air-conditioned. To beat the heat though, are you guys seeing those shows - the music one, and the Pictorium one? Though, I was in the Pictorium, and it didn't even feel like it's on at all.

The place was actually a good place to eat it use to be you can actually order food and they would bring them to your table and the buffet wasnt that bad at all it fills you up which was a good thing. I think the train is at mooseburger lodge now and they still have singing cowboys with rocking country live everyday at the mooseburger. Sad to say but it seems like Great America is forcing us to go to BK and McDs outside the park because of the lack of variety of foods in the park its mostly burgers and pizza hotdogs and the prices wow enough to fill 3 gallons of gas in your car then again its a themepark food is expensive. If you still love eating at the buffet theres a golden corral behind one the hotel foods not that bad and taste good actually.
Does anyone know why they got rid of the Crazy Buffalo Saloon, because it was a good restaurant. Now, we have two empty buildings just sitting to rot: Bourbon Street Cafe and this. However, the circular dining area in the Bourbon Street Cafe has been turned into a air-conditioned Cool Zone, good use if you ask me. Oh well, but as long as the other great restaurants like Aunt Martha's, Mooseburger Lodge, and Angelo's are still there, I'm good.
Bourbon Street Cafe was a third party vendor renting space out, they probably either got forced out... or didnt have enough business to continue business
