park on Wednesday. Crowds?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I will be heading to the park on Wednesday, how have the crowds been lately? Do any of you foresee the park being packed. I went on a day last summer and the waits were about 15 minutes max for everything. I am hoping for that again. Any thoughts?

I would expect it to be crowded in the regular park, but not much for the waterpark. For instance, I expect Batman (the old one) to have people in the park lines going back and forth which is pretty long for Batman along with Superman having close to full line (Okay maybe have of the switchback lines going because it's a Wed, but still). The thing with Great America (which might be no duh sherlock) is that it's really based on weather - crowds. Sure, your weekends are going to be more crowded than during the week, but it's all about the weather. You could easily have the front lot full, and not many cars in the backlot, but if you have 50 people in the waterpark / other water rides, that's a lot of people not being in water lines. So, when you pick cooler days like Wednesday (74 for Gurnee), you are going to wait much longer for coasters than when you pick more warmer days like 87 degrees. The roles are reversed somewhat, and the water rides will be mobbed, and the regular rides will have less people - probably not walk on in July / late June, but the regular park would have less people in it.

Now, if you are going to the waterpark / water rides all day, I expect walk-ons unless the humidity is like 90% that day though I really, really doubt that.

Probably not because the weather right now for Wednesday is 74 and sunny. When you went last year was it above 90 or rainy or something like that. Go into the park expecting it to be packed and if its not then it will be a pleasent time for you

When I went last year, it was partly sunny and about 83 degrees. I would think it would be less packed when its cooler. Well at least we can get some time in Riptide Bay then

This has got to be the strangest year with crowds. I've gone to the park three times (two on sunday, one wednesday) and there has been nobody there. The longest wait was v2 which was around 10 min! Its been like that everytime for me so u should be fine. Get a gameplan and follow it and SFGAm will do its charm.

well if any of you happen to be there today or were there yesterday, please let me know what the crowds are like this week. I am from Central Wisconsin, getting up bright and early to head down tomorrow!

On a 75 degree day, most people don't consider the waterpark (except for people that despise waiting for a 20 second water slide). But keep in mind, on 85+ degree days, not only do you have to battle the people looking to have a long day in nice weather, but the people who come PRIMARILY for the waterpark. And seeing as the waterpark opens late and closes early, the spillover affects the dry side as well. The only way the waterpark makes a somewhat significant impact on the crowd levels in the dry park is if you get a good bunch of people that are on the fence about going to the waterpark that particular day that decide the waterpark is good for them. Then you gotta think, when you're waiting 30 or whatever minutes for a waterslide, you're darn-tootin people are gonna leave the waterpark to come into the dry park.

Now, as for Wednesday...the temperature forecast has slowly been climbing AND the day is forecasted to be nothing but Sun. The Sun adds to the percieved temperature massively. Add in the inevitable sunburn and how it raises your body temperature, and folks you got yourself a day that may as well be 90 degrees. In my honest opinion, with school out, 4th of July around the corner, and divine weather, I can totally see quite the busy/crowded day.
Missing Shockwave more and more every day.
