New Paint Jobs

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

So what do you think of the new paint jobs. I think both Demon and Deja Vu will be a great addition. The change in Batman's colors is going to be a little change though.
you can't believe it - you didn't mean it
but they saw you do it and they know your name

I for one am extatic about the new paint jobs. Demon is long overdue for one, and I kind of can't wait to see what Batman turns out like. 8)

I think it sounds pretty cool. I'd rather they leave Batman alone though, I like it the way it is.

Iggy Ace- From what I've heard, Batman will be like SFOT's [yellow track and black supports], Deja Vu and Demon are just getting new paint jobs with the same colors.

Holydumb, it was never supposed to be a camoflauje look, that was just a terrible paint job. I just wanted to clear that up because you said they were painting it to two solid colors.

I like the new batman colors, but thats just me. Yellow or not, it needs a fresh coat anyways.

This is probibly not going to happen because no other parks do this, but I think they should make the demon rails change colors. You can do this on rct 1 and 2, and I got the idea from the sfgam comercials at gurnee mills where they show a video of the first drop on raging bull only the colors are constantly changing to different purles and reds. It makes the ride look faster. I thought maybe they should spray paint the trak multicolors in the tunnel to add the ilusion of acceleration, and put a ton of mist in the first tunnel with a ton of lights. Also, put spotlights on the mountain, and plant trees around the corkscrews.

Wow. I started off talking about paint but then got a little carried away.

I personally would like to see B:TR yellow and black. I think it would look awesome. Demon I think should be red rails, red spines and black supports. That will look cool. DV should remain the same colors. But I hoped they would repaint IW. That coaster is so ugly. It would look cool if it was silver and dark blue..just my own opinion! -Brian

I don't know about this, but did the Demon used to be red? If you look at the rails in the station, where the black paint peeled off, you can see some red paint underneath it exposed.

No, it was never red, but it was faded blue between 1976 and 1980 as the turn of the cuntury.

The older pics of it in 1976 I've always seen white.

http://www.greatamericaparks.com/rides.html ahhhh its a very thin line between White and Grey but Iam guessing it was most likely white becasue America's colors are Red WHITE and Blue, not Red GREY and Blue lol.

I was hoping for the same thing. Though I don't mind Iron Wolfs colors, I always thought it would look cool with silver and a type of dark blue that is like PKI's Vortex.

Maybe next year they'll repaint Iron Wolf, American Eagle, and Whizzer. One can only hope

Have you never seen a steel building being built? The steal is a reddish-brown when it comes from the manufacturer. Where you see the red is where the paint is rubbing off, especially on the tracks.

I think it'll look nice in yellow. A fresh change, I guess. Unfortunately, V2 is right there in all it's yellow glory so, who knows? At least it's being mantained. I'm just worried about the painted rails. Painted rails, from my experience, can slow rides down. I hope this isn't the case, considering the way B:TR was running last year.

It would have been nice if they painted Iron Wolf instead of Demon (Demon didn't really need it), but i'm certainly not complaining about any of the new paint. They are trying to make the park look nicer, so no reason in complaining about painting B:TR, Vu definitley needed paint (anybody else wondering if the party deck will be painted? Eh, I doubt it).

And Dre, it doesn't matter what PGA's Demon's colors are, SFGAm's was never black and red like that.

Yeah Iam not complaining but I think that SFGAm is painting the wrong coasters. Ok I agree with Deja Vu 100 % that needs it bad. But Demon dosent really need one all that bad maybe some touch ups but its still gonna be black. BTR really dosent need it I mean isnt it supposed to look all trashy/rusted and beat up. On batman your fighting crime in a city. But yellow is gonna look cool anyway.

If I had the choice I would repaint American Eagle. Basically that coaster is like Pink, White/Grey, and light blue.

Also Iron Wolf is such a great coaster I say give it a new coat of paint maybe like Yellow and Silver or something cool that makes it stand out more.

Yeah, but do you know how much paint it would take to cover American Eagle? Hundreds of gallons! Think about your average steel coaster and then think of all the pieces that would need to be painted on Eagle! If they do paint Eagle, I guarentee you it will be in a year that they paint nothing else.
