My guess is that the ride operator costumes will not be returning. Employees are usually moved around from ride to ride so it would be very difficult if a specific uniform was for one or two rides.

Also I doubt employee satisfaction was very high when they were forced to wear a full tuxedo in a barely air conditioned batman station for hours on end while checking trains, even worse for the line attendants wearing a black tux in the hot July sun. I'm sure they all rejoiced when they came out with the GCPW jumpsuits a few years later.

The employees wearing themed costumes doesn't have much to do with working multiple rides, if they had costumes they would still people to different rides while wearing the other costume like Knotts Berry Farm does and how they do during Fright Fest where you see the ride operators wearing the Demon sweatshirts/capes (not sure if they still do this) at other rides. We also saw this in 04-06 when the Railroad had themed costumes and people from other rides would come just wearing the blue polo.

The problem comes with the huge cost increase in wardrobe having to put together and maintain thousands of costumes when many of them are different. It is a lot cheaper to just order the uniforms from whichever company they do that from all as bulk and sell them to the employees. All things considered I doubt you will be seeing a big increase in the wardrobe spending. However I would not be surprised if they changed the employee uniforms this year to something more classy, like a short sleeve buttondown, because the bright yellow was a Mark Shapiro thing (saw the vendors wearing it a Cubs game and said they made the employees stick out so it would make a greater perception of employee presence in the parks).

Just BTW, the Batman employees never wore full tuxedos. They were fake. Trust me, Six Flags would never spend that much money on that many tuxedos.

back in 1992 money was less of an object. They probably were not top quality and they were ill fitting, but they were full tuxedos. I want to say only one employee (at the controls) was wearing the tux by about 94/95 with the rest in the GCPW jumpsuits, after that until they sold out to Premeir in 1998 they were all wearing the GCPW jumpsuits.

Also by Tuxedo I do mean black dress pants, dress shoes, white dress shirt, dark vest and black blazer with a bow tie. not sure if that constitutes an official tuxedo, but in my mind it fits the definition pretty well.

As of now it looks like 2 official bands have been confirmed to play at the park this summer so far. Sick Puppies and A Rocket to the Moon have been confirmed to play in the Southwest Territory stage.

I am so happy that no more stupid pop music is blaring through the park. So many childhood memories were brought back on Saturday when entering the Whizzer and I heard the Entertainer. I hope this music stays for years to come.

Oh my god. That was the biggest complaint I had about the park. I had an intense migraine one day and waiting in the queue while having that crap of a song blasting in your ears only made it worse. I swear I would of sued the park if I passed out or something haha. I HATE that song. It pisses me off!!! I better not hear that song played ever again. It friggin ruins my funtime at the park. My friends hate that song too!

I was in the smoke area by ricochet when it played and there were women dancing to it, but the bells started ringing in mission center that drowned out the music I only herd the first min of it , the rest of the day had old time music playing, Very happy about that. Much better than it playing every 5-15 min.

If they don't play it once an hour, how will I know if Six Flags employees are moving it to keep the park clean or not?

It's SO much better than the mainstream crap they played before. I just hope Nightmare will play during Fright Fest again, That was awesome!

Right on! I thought I was the only one who cared about this. The grating pop music (especially the screeching sound of last year's "I'd Like to Move It, Move it" -- ugh) is one example of how, ironically, Six Flags is turning the park into the type of place that Walt Disney disliked enough to cause him to originate theme parks to begin with.

A couple of other atmospheric things that bother me:
- Carnival barkers. Yes, they were always there to some degree, but they now seem to be louder and more numerous. Very annoying.
- Uniforms. While I can understand that highly detailed Marriott-style costumes would be expensive and perhaps not workable, the visual assault that is the yellow-green employee T-shirt has got to go. The beautiful architecture of Hometown Square and Yankee Harbor is not the place to wear this type of shirt. Donate them to a road construction crew. And can the corny slogan on the back. If I want mind control, I'll read 1984. How about a simple golf-style shirt in a neutral color with a small, tasteful park logo on it?

Yes Seriously. Hard rock/metal def should be playing during Frightfest or maybe some rammstein or something. But knowing the park they like to keep it "family friendly" even during Frightfest. Its time for the park to let loose during Frightfest. I mean the park is "friendly" during the...what...the 130 some days outta the year and Frightfest is like around 14 days or something. Let the park loose and scare and go wild during those 14 Frightfest days, seriously. But obviously keep it under control and safe so we don't have accidents or even worse. I really wanna start a petition to remove that torturous song. I should start telling the park they need to "RE-move it, RE-move it", meaning the dumb song. haha.

Ugh they play it again today in southwest territory and in county fair by iron wolf.

I guess this song is here to stay at least they don't play it 2 times a hour.

Plug in your ipod when that song comes on then.

At least we're not stuck listening to Bieber, Gomez, and all that other yuckgarbage all day.

So glad the old music is back. :-) Can't wait for June 12th.
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!
