Hoorah! It's the off season!

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Necropolis on February 17th, 2011, 12:11 am
I thought I saw someone post how disappointed they are with the way Whirligig was stripped down to almost nothing (according to one of the previous posted pictures) and how it would take a long while to re-build it. Hmmm...I believe they deleted their post....whoever it was, which it was a VERY active user of this site, they sounded very disgusted/disappointed. o_0

On another note, I tried this roller coaster simulator at this arcade/games place by where I live. It was cool. There were 4 choices of themed rides: Astro space theme, futuristic theme, Arctic Theme and Haunted Mine Theme. I went on it 3 times and felt that dejavu feeling you get at night after riding coasters all day. I was happy. Also, the current odd warm weather is making it feel like opening day is right around the corner, which its not. The more days that pass by, the less I feel like going to the park and the less excited I am for the park to open. We've been waiting for toooooo long! :o

^Some of the posts that are deleted from fake profiles. As I've counted about 12-13 "people" trolling on Great America's Facebook. Me and some friends suspect they're all run by the same person because their grammar is identical along with punctuation errors....oh and a lot of them are huge Disney fanatics, and others claim they work for Disney.

I advise you to please report these profiles....some of the trolls listed:
Desiree Johnson
Rachel StEvil
Keving Miller
Kathy Miller
Cinnamon Harris

^Those are the most active posters. One of them actually started attacking the employees and insulting them....

That Rachel Stevil name is definitely one I saw. There was also that picture of that woman with her cleavage clearly showing and the picture asked for everyone to friend request her. Another obvious troll. Now WTF would Disney fanatics start trolling. Clearly Six Flags is the better of the corporations. :D I reported some profiles already. Consider me a troll hunter and exterminator.

It looks like the park's done some housecleaning, however... many of their posts are gone.

Lori Davis is still posting. Yet she has the same grammar issues/complaints as Desiree and Rachel have.

I usually never visit the SFGAm Facebook page because its ful of these trolls. Its really annoying. They're complaining about the flow rider and how girls bikini tops might fall off. From what I've seen on every other flow rider, girls get a surf shirt.

I reported that cinnamon harris thing creature. Its getting real friggin annoying with these spamming trolls. I also read on SFGAm's facebook page that this guy was talking about a new coaster we are supposed to get in 2012 and how Demon will be dismantled at the end of this year and how this giant 2,000 ft long coaster will go over buccaneer battle and past american eagle and go into southwest territory. There was even a picture he drew to try and pass it as legit. Yeah, right. Jon Revelle knows what I'm talking about.

Also my post about someone complaining about Whirligig being stripped down and how it would take a while to re-build it and their disappointment with the park, I believe was from BP/19. I could be wrong, but I swear I thought I saw BP/19 post that reply and then delete it within minutes. I mean hes a moderator so he can delete any post he wants to. Has BP/19 worked for the park as well, because the post also said that he had worked for the park before.

Finally on screamscape this is what I read: "I’m not sure if there is any truth to this or not, but there is a new rumor making the rounds claiming that one of the older kiddie areas of Six Flags Great America may be removed to make way for a future attraction. A popular rumor is that it may be the Bugs Bunny National Park area around the Little Dipper, which would let the park add something new to help continue to revive this area perhaps."

/\ I did make a post about how the snow slows down pre-season preperation for the parks opening, but deemed the post unnecessary and deleted it since it doesn't affect too much for opening day. Whirligig can be put together rather quickly once the snow melts. Plus Whirligig isn't even really stripped down, the frame is still there like it is every winter. A major rehab/stripped down would look like this

All the similiar swing rides, like Whirling, go through the same rehab every winter where they are stripped to the bone. That photo shown above I believe was from the 06 offseason.

my offseason is going to last a lot longer than I expected it to. Can't go opening day because plane tickets are out the window and it's mother's day weekend so my mom won't let me go. plus we are in the process of figuring out when we're going to put the house up for sale....so who knows when I'll get to the park this summer.

I was going through SFGAm's facebook and found this picture of whirligig's "backbone" during the 2011 Off-season. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=496826216355&set=a.496825881355.273492.10583866355&theater

Somebody beat you to it.
