I went to the park today and tried out my new nikon:) Only a couple claws/dozers and a big pile of dirt. No more go-karts (but we already knew that.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyCJaEmQmTE
Im keeping my fingures crossed that they do NOT re-locate the go-carts some where else in the park (SWF area). It would be such a waste of future space for a better and newer attraction in the future (2012 coaster ).
oh no. david is back...according to one of the comments on the vid haha
But anyway a big thanks to the person who made this video. I miss SFGAm already. This vid made me a little happier over this depressing winter. I didn't know SFGAm still put up stuff over the winter season such as that ad for season passes and the Xmas lights on top of Sky Trek Tower? Wow. I thought no one went to the park during this time. Hmm. Thats nice to know! Although, WTH was up with that graffiti on the sign that says the park is closed for the season? Is that where the local gangs hang out nowadays??
I was out at the park today for the auditions and saw what has been done on Riptide Bay. The area is fenced off, there is some contraction equipment and what seems to be most of the slide parts. As for the area prep, it is cleared, but only seems like a little bit of work (ground moving) has begun. Pictures should be up on Screamscape by Tuesday.
So does this mean that the park can get Riptide Bay up and running before the waterpark opens? This will sway my groups opinion on whether we go more or less this season.
Those pictures might get you into some trouble if you're not careful, because you trespassed by the looks of it. Unless you have a camera with one hell of a zoom.

Well the first picture confirms my theory. There is no real fence around new border of the park, that will most likely be finished after all land clearing is finished. I'm not saying that opening IS later because of Riptide Bay, but I thinks it's very possible.

I live in Gurnee and took and posted these pictures. I was dropping someone off for an audition (which for some reason Auditions are always through the main gate). I believe that they only have the auditions only the one weekend. Especially since they now only have 1 theater and I guess that maybe the end of night shows need auditions. I was surprised that so much of the slide pieces were already on site. I could not get close enough, but it did not look like the hole for the lagoon was dug yet.

I doubt it, snow is probably interrupting things...or slowing them down at least.

Haven't had that much snow around here, biggest snow storm so far, at least here in Woodridge has been about 4-6 or so inches. And a bunch of like 1-2 inch snow storms, nothing major. Normally by now we would have had at least one 10"+ storm.

Haha isn't it funny what you said about by now we usually have 10in + storm Everyones freakin out about this possible "snowpocalypse" haha.
Anyway, I really love that they went with the concept art colors for the tantrum. (At least it appears that way) but if those orange/teal colored pieces are for the drop/speed slides, I don't like that the combo is the exact same as WahooRacers.... I mean I know they've used a lot of colors, already but a new combo of colors (like the black/white/red tantrum) would be more nice.
I'm gettin more & more excited about this. Ill have to check out HH in June though, ill be in OK/TX for a wedding memorial day weekend & hopefully SFOT
