The really only thing that kind of bothered me was that Sundays during Frightfest, the park closes at 9pm. I mean didn't it used to be open until 10pm?? Plus Frightfest is only worth going to at night.
You stated above it's just an hour, so why does it matter more during Fright Fest? Sunday nights are slow with school the next day, thus less families and teens at the park.
Well if ur like me, then Frightfest is the highlight of SFGAm. I mean c'mon. My avatar/profile picture and username are all revolved around Frightfest. I'd really like to have that extra hour. We can all benefit from that extra hour. I mean you can't really truly enjoy the purpose of Frightfest and even Halloween during the day. Its all about the night that truly makes this event special, amazing to go to and worth waiting for.
I just thought of this. Doesn't this site usually have some sort of counter/countdown for how many days are left until opening day? I have been personally updating my "countdown" in my signature on here. Just take a look under my post. Is it too early to post the counter? Im assuming it won't be posted once opening day REALLY gets close?
I wonder if Coasters After Dark will then happen this season if there are cuts going around.
I have never attended and always wanted to. Maybe this year my group will finally go. Aside from having to have a season pass to get onto the coasters, how else does this work, what else happens and are there any benefits in going to this event aside from the people left in the park are season pass holders and the lines are short?
Hometown Square AFTER this weeks historical blizzard......

The park itself tends to be more packed than normal on CAD days. Once CAD starts lines tend to be like an afternoon at the park. Think of it more of the park is open later than an ERT session with no lines. Outside of some of the rides being open, there is nothing special about the event.
I remember when coasters after dark first started and nobody really knew about. It was like night ERT . Now a days, more people just buy season passes considering the low price and comparing them to ticket prices. As a result, more and more people at CAD. The crowds can get pretty out of control during this event. I don't think a will attend one anytime soon due to my last experience.
Hmm...sounds like Coasters After Dark (CAD) gets packed too. So if I were to go to the park on a day that they had Coasters After Dark and bought a flash pass, I know I could use it during the day, but would I also be able to use it during that same night after the park closes when CAD takes place?
^ I suggest a winter trip. Southern Cal and Florida have a great variety of theme parks and decent winter weather. Plus, it's the off season after New Years, so lines aren't insane. My coaster season starts March 19th.
You know, seeing the ads on this site gave me an idea. Now that the final installment of the Harry Potter films is this summer , the park should seriously consider selling Harry Potter merchandise. I mean I love the wizards shop at the park but I am a HUGE sucker for anything Harry Potter. I must have it, unless its for girls then nevermind lol. But seriously, if the park gets HP merch, than Im probably gonna be spending most of my paychecks on the merch.
I just looked at the site and the wizards shop is nowhere to be seen. I hope its not gone, unless it goes by another name? Can anyone confirm its still there/here?????!!
I am doubtful of that considering Johnny Rockets is owned by Dan Snyder, and they would probably remove the Johnny Rockets from that area next to Wigzopolis and build a new one in a building literally across the midway. I think it is more likely they make a long term move and add capacity to the SP processing center since some days it can have the longest line in the park, and that seems like prime real estate for it.
I've heard something different for Magiquest. Not ride, attraction or eatery related though. More on the operational side of things, def nothing for anyone to get excited over.

I hope that Wizards Shop is still at the park. I'm almost positive it had nothing to do with MagiQuest though. The Wizards shop is purple on the outside and I believe its either by Logger's run or by The little dipper. What is the name of that shop??
Also, I wanted to ask on the parks FB page if the wizards shop is still around, but I am blocked from replying, commenting and liking any statuses, photos or comments due to the fact that I was one of the few who commented and spoiled the surprise last year when the park was going to announce the expansion of hurricane harbor and had that little puzzle thing that revealed a piece everyday. I wonder how I can ask not to be blocked anymore because Id really like to reply and comment on their page. But I mean, who cares if the surprise got spoiled?? The public would of known sooner or later, whether by announcing it on their site, FB page or heck, even going to the park and clearly noticing the new changes. Duh!
^SF STL does that too in a ultra small shop way back by The Big Spin. It is a nightmare to get a pass from there. SFOG on the other hand has a very nice center outside of the gate that opens before the park does. The fact any park makes you spend in-park time to process a season pass is sad.
I can't remember exactly what year this was, I believe it was in 99'. I remember that a couple of weeks before the park opened for the season, on certain days, you could physically walk into the park to the pass proccessing center and get your pass there and then. Does anyone know why they stoped doing this?
I would imagine capacity. I know that's part of the reason they are moving it now. The former Arcade/Magi-quest is huge and if set up right should be able to make lines move much quicker. Plus I don't see how it matters one bit where inside the park season pass processing is, you're at the park anyways. It's not like you have to drive 6 blocks down Milwaukee Ave to have your pass processed.
