So now that I don't have an obligation to go spend all my money and time riding coasters I can now focus on school and my future. Also it's hockey, ski, snowboard, snowmobile, Ice Fish, ect season. It's always nice to give coasters a break. And I gotta say, I was actually relieved today.
So now that's it's here, what will you all be doing with your time?
WOOO HOCKEY SEASON! Yeah, I'm a hockey fan. Blackhawks will have a decent year, but they won't be repeating as Cup champs. I'm stuck in Milwaukee until at least end of February, so I will be going to a lot of Admirals' games. If you happen to see someone at the BC wearing a #23 red Hawks jersey, or a white Hjalmarsson #4 Hawks jersey, that's very likely me. I'll even be there Wednesday when the play Rockford.
As for the end of the coaster season, it was a good year for me, but disappointing in terms of park visits. I only made it to SFGAm once, so I wasted my pass. I was however able to get to Cedar Point, so it wasn't bad for me.
I love the off season. I get to see how much money I save per month by not going to the park and I get to plan future trips. Not to mention it's good taking a break once in a while. It always makes that first coaster of the year even better. Especially if it's one you haven't been on before.
I'll try to plan a short trip to Mall of America once I start getting cabin fever in early January. Thought about making a trip to Magic Mountain, but I'm not going to go until Deja Vu reopens, and Superman and the ZacSpin are up and running, which won't be until at least spring.
Top 5 Steel: 1. Kingda Ka. 2. Top Thrill Dragster. 3. Skyrush. 4. Maverick. 5. Millenium Force. Top 5 Wood: 1. El Toro. 2. The Voyage. 3. Phoenix. 4. Thunderhead. 5. Thunderbolt.
I hate the off-season. BOO! So, to get time going faster, well there are the zoos I will visit, and than maybe a museum or two. February, March, and April are the bad months for me especially. At least towards the end of November, it's only been a month closed, but here comes Christmas, so that's good. The end of October though for me is like goodbye to a lot of things. It's not only amusement parks, but it's miniature golf, fireworks in the summer aren't bad, goodbye to shorts & t-shirts on some days in the summer, swimming said goodbye in September but still, carnivals are gone, after October Halloween is gone, and picnics are too cold now. I just love summer.
I still wish I could go to the pumpkin farm, but NOPE. Can't even stay open a week after Halloween. Bummer. It's like everything comes to a halt November 1st. I hate it.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
^I feel the exact same way. Around March is when I start to get real anxious. I just can't stand the waiting anymore! If I had the extra cash, I would fly out to California in a heart beat. Sadly thats not the case.
I agree too. Now that Lagoon and SF are closed, I can't do a darn thing except work. I have a seasonal job so after January idk if I will be working or not. I was told I could reapply after January to work regular season unless I decide to move back to Chicago which I'm really hoping for. If I do that, then I'll have to find another job but also look forward to going to SF again. I have my pass ordered and will get it at the park next season. So for the time being I am going to watch youtube videos from this summer and from FF to pass the time.
Bye bye SFGAm for 6 months. I guess the good thing that comes out of this is that I can save some money for my personal expenses and other stuff etc. Yeah after Halloween, the period of slumber and harsh weather come crawling in. Can't go outside really, hard to wake up early morning because Im so snuggly warm in bed, nothing to do outside, no walking around downtown Chicago in comfort, gotta layer on clothing. can wake up and walk outside right away because I have to put on a jacket. Gotta shovel the snow to come off my car and off my long driveway. Gotta get up early to warm up my car. No fairs, outdoor concerts, it gets darker earlier outside and of course SFGAm is closed! IDK. I guess I can work more since retail gets busier after Halloween. Im not into sports or even watch any TV for that matter. Some concerts are coming up and also X-mas too! Im hoping this site still stays highly active during the off season. I need my usual fix of SFGAm. Im already craving funnel cake sundaes! Hope to chat with more of you guys and hopefully some of you will post pics of SFGAm over the winter, and of course during the addition construction of Hurricane Harbor. Stay warm everyone!

Try to cut down on the smilies lol... I hate the offseason too btw
I hate winter, I hate snow, I hate the burning cold, I hate waiting for the car to warm up, etc. etc!! I really don't like the offseason & most all that comes with it. I'm just a Grinch!
However... I really miss Kalahari Sandusky seein I haven't been since my last day of work on Dec. 18th! Sooo I'm goin to visit my bf in Toledo in December so I plan on goin for my bday/Christmas. I love indoor waterpark resorts during winter cause of the HOT indoor temps!
Well, Im sad that I didn't go to six flags much towards the end of the year. I just didn't have the time. Since I planned literally every trip my friends and family took, it's nice to have a break. Actually, my friend was supposed to plan the last one, but it was 'too much work'. So, I will be more active on the site and hoping frequently to see pictures of SFGAm over the winter and of the construction!
Well my youtube is SFGAM76 and there other channels of mine that are listed on there. Six Flags will open in no time if u watch a few vids a day of mine thats 212 vids that would work maybe.
^There is only one thing I wanted to point out, no offense here just making an observation here, a bunch of your videos are less than a minute or 2. The frightfest highlights vids were mostly just a huge collection of the smaller vids already uploaded onto your youtube page, all put together into one long video. Also, are you still uploading anymore? I noticed theres no more videos from you? Are you waiting till opening day to film more?
Over 4 years of coaster videos, POVs, other random clips, and some Artsy stuff. I post about 2-3 new videos a week. I try to make one of those a POV from a park I visited that isn't that well known. I make sure all the videos are good quality and have decent content.
I have to say, this is probably my favorite video I have ever done. Galaxyland 2009
Wow...oh commons...I miss it but I def don't. Havin my own house in Sandusky was def the best. Steve sure is the American Idol of the group. He's a little embarrassed told me "not to judge" him haha
It's funny though, that was filmed in early June and I didn't find that footage until after I came home for the summer. I was so drunk that night I forgot I even filmed stuff. Makes me wonder what else I did at CP that I don't remember.
Why would you go before "all the new" rides?! Granted, you may have been on STE before, or prob been on the Vekoma rollerskater, but GL? That's why I'm waiting... I don't care what's new at a park for whatever season, I like to try out the new goodies!
