There are ways to make a ride such as Led Zeppelin better. Change the wheel type, remove some of the trims, re-track the rough parts, perhaps even change the layout of the ride a little to include an extra inversion? Paint the track purple, the rails yellow, and the supports dark blue and rename it Bizarro. Add a little special effects, and you got yourself a different ride.
Has anyone ridden Incredible Hulk on one of its bad days, in the back, when its humid and scorching hot? I'm trying to think of a way to compare the two coasters. If you've ridden Hulk on a bad day, in recent years, its just like Time Machine except TM is even rougher.
Don't get me wrong its no unbearable or anything it just has a serious case of B&M rattle, thats all I'm saying. You can ask anyone who's ridden or look at any POV.
But still it would fit nice at GAm but it would be unlikely.

I've ridden Hulk a lot and prefer it with nylon wheels. Raging Bull and Hulk both rotate wheels based on weather (mostly nylon in cold months, mostly polyurethane in summer months). The polyurethane wheels have more drag and run slower, however they are smoother and do not require replacement as frequently, which is why you see them running during the warm months when the wheels get the most wear.

I actually rode Hulk in the back and it was considerably rough but still fun. The last corkscrew was really rough on me but the rest of the ride was great!

Just because a ride is new doesn't mean it's automatically a great ride. It's the guys opinion about the ride. I like Incredible Hulk a lot, and that ride reminds me of it, so I would most likely will like it. And to say someone is dumb because they don't like every B&M known to man is just dumb because we have people at our park that don't like Superman and Iron Wolf. They don't like Iron Wolf more though. The enthusiasts on here just seem to dislike Superman more than the GP though.
And just because you like a company let's say Toyota doesn't mean you have to like every car they make, and when you go to Burger King, it doesn't mean that every product satisfies you, but yet you still like Burger King as a whole.

After working at Cedar Point I have a new love for B&M (although Cedar Fair can't maintain even a B&M). Although Intamin makes great rides, they suck when it comes to reliability. For a new coaster at SFGAm I would like (in this order). -Unique -Reliability -Thrilling -Capacity
I think another B&M would be overkill as most of there coaster offer similar ride sensations. I would love to see Six Flags go with MACK or GCI in the next few years. And whenever SFGAm does decide to add another coaster I think either of those companies could make something really good for the park.
All though all these ideas for a new roller coaster sound great, i just dont see SFGAm getting a new coaster for the 2011 season. I mean i will still keep my fingers crossed for one, but i just dont see one comming after the whole chang fiasco. I will say though that i do believe that we will see a new ride at SFGAm sometime soon in the next following years, im just hoping it will have been worth the wait.
I just got an email from Six Flags, and they say the new attraction will be announced September 1st!

But the board DID approve the zoning variance right?
Is that zoning variance allowable for ANY ride over the height variance - or did they specifically indicate it was only for that ride?
Just saying - that the initial legwork may be complete for a structure over the height limit.
While I don't know the full details on that, I do know that for final approval, SFGAm does need to go in front of the Village Board of Trustees (the Mayor is a member of this board).
I would guess that if (and this is a big if) SFGAm "cancelled" that meeting and plans to go back with a request to build Chang, that they would not need to re-go in front of the ZBA....they could go right to the Village Board.
However, if the material (wood coaster instead of steel), or type of ride changed (swing type ride, ferris wheel, etc instead of Coaster) I would make the guess that the park would HAVE to go back to the ZBA, as it is for a completly different structure.
yada yada yada. We prolly arent gonna get that Zepellin ride anyway. I absolutely hate it when people hype over something that isn't even remotely close to being true. We have enough coasters as it is. Are we trying to have the most coasters out of any park in the country??
^I dont know how you can just say that. The last REAL roller coaster we have had introduced was in 2001 man. Dont you think its time for a new coaster??
Sorry i had my info wrong. I ment 2003 i guess. I just mean that i want a REAL, coaster thrill ride, not any of the crap we have been getting lately. (Not including super man) Still we are way over due for a new coaster

I agree. Superman being our last coaster that was over 100ft. It's time for something new and thrilling that at least stands 100ft. if not taller.
Ridiculous. Everyone wishing for a thrill on here is ridiculous. When was the last time the Texas parks, TGE, SFA, SFDK, SFNE, or SFM recieved a thrill?
SFA I know is going on 10 years without any coaster. SFNE is going 9 years, in SFGAm World terms, without a real addition. I can't even think of the last time they added a coaster to TGE or SFM, I know they moved SFNE's Dark Knight to SFM but in SFGAm World terms that doesn't even count.
The Texas parks and DK both got Tony Hawks but those wouldn't count here so I don't know the last time they got a big coaster either. Its been a while.

Fiesta Texas got a Batman the Ride which is a thrill they didn't have. For Six Flags Over Texas, I really like there stuff, but obviously why aren't they are in the top 25 attended amusement parks? They should be in my opinion because of how open they are. It's because what you are talking about - not receiving a big roller coaster for quite some time. SFA is a dump anyway. No one cares about that park, and how can you really improve a dump? They keep on taking flats out of left and right, and you know how many SFGAdv people go there to get their season pass and leave.
For Great Escape, it's not even a branded Six Flags park, and look at the stuff they have. A bunch of old stuff from other parks. For SFDK, the animals keep people happy enough. Now, for SFNE I think they should get a new thrill ride over there because they got jipped with not getting the Dark Knight, and than big whoop they repainted Bizzaro which already was a great coaster to begin with. For SF Mexico, how many roller coasters parks are there in Mexico really? Why spend a lot of money when people come to the park with a lot of roller coasters in the whole country? Clicking on rcdb links for Mexico, the most besides Six Flags Mexico a park has in roller coasters is 4. Six Flags Mexico has 7, thus why put in a lot of roller coasters when you don't need to.
So, yes Six Flags Great America doesn't need another roller coaster, and yes I do believe that some of these other parks should get bigger stuff, but at the same time I think some of these other parks don't care to get it anyway. My opinion though is that Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags St. Louis, and Six Flags New England need something bigger if they can fit it instead of a park like Great America, Magic Mountain, or Great Adventure in regards with coasters.

Which one of those parks has major capacity issues, oh wait... most of those parks would love to have that problem.
Which one of those parks tops all other parks in profit? Ohh... Wait thats Gam

I do think that the park could benefit from a high profile and marketable mega-looper (Seven-ish inversions) however that would really complete our coaster collection for now I think, and they really would never need to add another coaster unless they removed a major one. I do think that they should be returning to theming and experiance overall, so I hope it would be themed, and I hope effort is put into more rides like buccaneer battle (not water rides necessary, just well themed rides that create a positive experiance.

We have a waterpark with Great America that helps our attendance out. How do you know that their capacity isn't bad at some of these other Six Flags parks like New England, and Over Texas? Over Texas has a smaller capacity indoor Premier ride, a Mr. Freeze, now a Tony Hawk, a Boomerang, and a bobsled coasters which all are lower capacity type of rides.
To further help capacity on the dry side, I said shows already, but no one likes that idea, so what about adding more employees to the flat rides?. Big Easy Balloons for example capacity is supposed to be getting 800 people a hour, but I looked at sheet, and it's getting 450 a hour. It's because now instead of people unlatching the doors themselves, they have an employee opening each one. How about adding another employee? I always thought East River Crawler should get another employee, and definitely add another one to Rue Le Dodge. How many times do you see Giant Drop not open on all the sides, and the antique cars closed along with the train? Is King Chaos doing it's job of helping relieve the lines of the roller coasters? I don't think so. To me, I just don't like it. The program seems lame to me, and the reason it can't be that great of a program is because I heard that those rides break themselves apart.
And I understand that having only 1 employee for flats is saving money, but if you worried about bad capacity at our park, than you think they would start adding more employees to these flats.
