I never thought I'd say this but David is 100% right. It's the park trying to save face by saying "what you knew to be true via government records and government meeting was all in your head" type deal. The park submitted official plans and it's as simple as that. The company would be beyond stupid (and piss off people in governmental positions) if they were just thinking of ideas in public.

At least this didn't turn out to be the PR disaster that happened at Six Flags New England 2 years ago with their Dark Knight, or Mr. Six's at Magic Mt. this year. Both of those rides were well past groundbreaking. It could turn out to be a blessing we didn't get Chang. It leaves a large enough space to put in something big without removing anything. Perhaps this will open the door for something like the dive machine Hank mentioned sometime down the road. (This is not a rumor, merely a possibility). Only time will tell.

It's funny how David, "the idiot and moron" was right all along. Except for the whole Chang cancelled thing, that was pulled out of left field.

Wow. Hank just stood up there and flat out lied. They had every intention of putting in Chang. He said that, "We were just preparing that if we were going to get it, we would have everything in order. There was no concrete evidence."

They had plans, they had track, they had blueprints. They began advertising a new attraction.

I just realized this, maybe all the people asking about Chang on Facebook was one of the reasons why its not coming anymore. I mean they do want to have some element of surprise to it. And they weren't advertising it at all. They just had funstruction signs. All the parks have funstruction signs. Big whoop.

^ Agreed. It's one thing for the park to say they're canceling it so that they surprise people, but it's another to cancel it completely because people knew about it. By the looks of it, Hank laughs at a lot of the rumors.

That would be the stupidest thing I had ever heard of, not because its a dumb reason, which it is, but because now the surprise is spoiled so everyone knows that it is coming so when it is cancelled now everyone is angry. If anything people knowing a new roller coaster is coming should be more incentive to adding it sooner, so you don't anger the GP.
